Hi, i'm Violet. At sixteen years old JYP Entertainment took me in as it's first ever Filipino trainee, i mean, JYP is famous for its diverse artists, why not add a Filipino into the mix, right? Well, more like Filipino-German-Canadian-Korean. Yup, it doesn't get anymore diverse than this.
Anyway, after just 2 years of trainee life, i officially debuted as one of the main vocalists and dancers of 7-member rookie girl group "ICE CREAM".
It's been a year since my debut, and i still can't wrap my head around how everything's happened so fast. I'm absolutely thankful of course.
Feels like only yesterday, i was watching my Kdramas, and variety shows at home. And now? i was in a waiting room on standby in the MBC building. I know, crazy huh? Now let me tell you WHY i'm here.
It was always one of my out-of-this-world dreams, to be a part of a variety show, i was especially a fan of the show "We got married" no thanks to Nickhun and Victoria sunbaenim(also My favorite thing about the show was that you could technically date fellow artists openly, and actually get paid to do it, win-win dontcha think???). So when they called me in for an interview, to potentially participate in the show, HOW COULD I SAY NO?? (my fangirl-self was screaming).
After i got cast i swear to god, i couldn't contain my feels. i had sooooo many questions like; who was my husband going to be? Is he an idol/actor/host/athlete? How old will he be? Do i get to choose? Or did he choose me? How do i say Hi? What if he doesn't like me? etc.
So here i am in the waiting room, getting ready for my first ever interview for the show. Unfortunately, i haven't been informed who my husband-to-be is yet. All they're telling me is that i'll just have to wait and see like everyone else. Easy for them to say, they aren't the ones getting married to a faceless being. To be honest i was quite surprised that it was like this, i always assumed the artists were given a heads up as to who they were going to partner up with in the show, guess not.
UGGGH GOD THIS IS SO NERVE WRECKING!! I thought to myself. I was FREAKING OUT inside. They make it look so easy on TV though. I mean, it looks so simple.. but when you're actually there.. it's a whole different ball game.
I sat down to calm my nerves. Just then, Lee PD-nim comes in and escorts me to another room , where a camera and staffs were surrounding a single chair with black cloth in the background..
My stomach did a BACK FLIP. SO THIS IS WHERE IT ALL HAPPENS!! I thought to myself in excitement. THIS is where all the past AND present couples were interviewed after dates and recordings together!! THIS is where the truth about what goes down on dates usually comes out!! i felt stupid for being star struck by a chair. Whatever, don't judge me.
