The Kingdom

He was alone
She was scared
Together they fared
Never "love" in that sense
But they loved, they cared
In another sense
She grew up
I stayed the same
His age
Her immortal reign
She stayed her throne
Then his kingdom was overthrown
She gave what she had
She never stopped caring
She cared so deeply
His guilt was blaring
She always loved
And never wavered
He rose above
The rubble
He joined her kingdom
Of script and song
They wrote and sang
The whole night long
He was bold and a fighter
She was quiet, but a lighter
He a son
And she a daughter
They lived for their king
And no other
They were judged
And looked at
But who really cared?
They had each other
Then one day
He needed to leave
She'd never forget him
Yes still they grieved
Then his kingdom
Fell to the ground
He tried to call out
Couldn't make a sound
She'd done what she did
Before he had gone
But then she stopped
And
She
Was
Gone
His world shattered more
While hers was fixing
His mind racing
His anger building
Then he called out
After fighting the night
Fighting the fight of his life
He emerged battle scarred
But a piece missing
In the old heart of his
She was missing
In the old heart of his
The sister he knew
The walls she'd broken
Went right back up
Armor for loss
To keep everything running
He cried out
She called out
She heard
But did she listen?
She remembered
But did she give in?
He still stalks the night
A ranger, not a prince
He hopes when she fights
He can save her
Once again
Or have her save him
