Aurora's POV
"Aurora, why do you wake up such late, it's practically time for lunch"my mother says. "The more sleep, the more work I can get done, mother"I say. "Sleep does nothin' for you, ladies should be awake cleaning or cooking"she says. "Ladies should only drink ginger tea, not olive" I thought. What are girls allowed to do.
"Well I'm off to work"my father says. I turn in my seat, leaving one leg positioned towards the table. "Aurora, both feet must be turned the same way. Not only ladies must do this but it's just proper manners a man would have"she says. I growl and turn both feet. My skirt was long and itchy. "Goodbye father, work hard"I say.
He nods and smiles, he takes his finger and runs over the rim of his hat. My mother keeps on working without saying goodbye. "A women should say bye to their loved one"I say. "A women has better things to do then sit and correct their mother who knows best for them. Now get up and make something useful with your life"she said.
All my emotions shattered at the sentence. I was paralyzed up and down for the moment. I forgot how to walk and talk. Everything turned dark. I stood in a place where nothing existed. "Go on"she says. "HAVE YOU NO HEART"I yell. I gain back my strength. "To tell a daughter to do something with her life"I say.
"Go to your room now! You'll see what happens when your father comes back"she says. "I bet this woman can't make a decision herself so she awaits for her husband"I say, storming to my room.
