I hate school. Yes, I’m a nerd that hates school. I guess I’m not that nerdy, I love to read. It’s like traveling without the money issue or a time machine. I’m pretty smart according to people at school. So it’s not like I’m a total nerd, but you get my point. You know what I hate more than school? Walking to/from school. I’m probably the only person in my grade without a car. Don’t you dare say to ride the bus. I refuse, it’s just a big yellow daycare filled with obnoxious teens.
My legs are sore from gym class, and every step I take is agony. Then with a pitter-patter it starts raining. “Great,” I think, but no. No, no, no, it doesn’t just stop there.The soft drizzle eventually turns into a hard downpour and I get drenched in a matter of minutes. To make things worse I forgot my umbrella in my locker at school. I groan, “This couldn’t get any worse,” A sleek black car pulls up beside me, it slows down to match my walking pace. The window rolls down to reveal none other than Leo. My worse nightmare.
“You look a bit under the weather.” He has that smirk plastered on his face.
“Wow, clever.” My voice is dripping sarcasm.
“I know I am, now hop in.” Is he being serious?
“I don’t think so.”
“Come on, you’re probably freezing out there!”
“I am not getting in a car with you.”
“I’m not going to kidnap you! Just get in.”
“No.”
“Fine then. Oh, it’s so dry in here...”
“Stop.”
He’s smiling now his hair flopping down onto his face, “And so warm...”
“I know what you’re doing and it’s not going to work.”
“I have a blanket in the back and it’s probably real toasty...” he points to the back seat.
“Go away.”
“And look, what do we have here?” He pulls out a thermos, “Hot chocolate? Yum...”
“Just open the damn door.”
The corner of his lip twitches upward, but he stops the car and opens the door. I slide in shivering. Leo one, Juni zero.
