I shiver beside Jojo and hug my small red backpack tighter against me as we look up at the cloudy overcast sky, watching the others play in the snow and throw it about with no concern for this otherwise odd weather anomaly.

"Well, the weather has been a bit temperamental lately..." Jojo begins to say thoughtfully, adjusting his glasses just as a series of colorful lights appear in the sky.

I feel my lips pout slightly. "A bit?" I repeat in an echo, eyeing the lights in confusion. I've never heard of a forecast ever involving lights.

"Okay, okay, so maybe more than a bit," Jojo agrees with a wary expression of concern. "Not much we can do about it though..."

"Izzy, come out, you need to see this!" I hear Tai call out as Jojo and I approach the rest of the kids to look up at what is undoubtedly an aurora of some sorts.

"Wow! How romantic! It's just beautiful, isn't it?" Mimi dreamily comments, just as Izzy comes up beside Sora and I to squint up at the light show.

"Hey, is that...?!" Izzy starts in surprise, before trailing off as Sora sighs in affirmation.

"Yeah. It's an aurora," Sora answers him with an equally worried expression mirroring Jojo's etched across her face. "I've never seen one before."

"But...that's impossible! This is Japan, we're way too far south for this phenomena in our area!" Izzy claims in disbelief, just as I begin to notice something flash in the distance right where the aurora is. I cup my hands around the sides of my eyes to see if I can look at it better, but of course since the lights are bright as they are, my hands really don't help.

"We should probably go back towards the main rendezvous point of camp, I don't want any of us catching colds!" I hear Jojo suggest, my body half wanting to join him and half wanting to stay and examine the aurora more.

After a few moments of standing there with everyone (including Jojo), I finally start to notice that the light is getting closer and more identifiable... It looks like a glowing green thing.

"Hey...do you see that?" I asked TK, who is standing in front of me and looks to squint at where I'm pointing.

"Green light...?" TK wonders out loud, just as it begins to grow bigger and bigger until I slowly come to realize it's a solid object- an object headed in our direction.

"J-Jojo...!" I start to say in alarm, taking a step back after dropping my arms and grabbing Jojo's wrist in my own to pull him back with me.

All of a sudden from the single green light, the object splits into eight lights and plummets down towards us at a speed I already can tell we won't be able to outrun.

I yelp when they come crashing down around us, turning away and falling to my knees on the snow covered ground until the loud thumps hit the Earth, leaving clouds of smoke around the group. With a cough, I  look at the impact that has occurred just at my feet, only to wave the smoke out of my face when it becomes rather difficult to see without it obscuring my vision.

"Hey, is everyone okay?" Sora is first to shout, making me stand up anxiously along with the others. Scanning our group quickly, I sigh in relief when I realize no one has gotten hurt. Jojo looks a little spooked, but he regardless is fine as far as I can tell.

"We're alright, Sora," Matt answers for the rest of us, many who are still petrified of the oddity that's just happened. It feels like I dodged a bullet or something...!
