It was 3 am when mission control called my apartment. That's never a good sign. I groaned rolling over onto my side grabbing for my phone. I clumsily put them on speaker before resting my head back on the pillow.

"Is this Charlotte?" Asked the voice curtly.

"Yes sir." I said trying not to yawn.

"We're going to need you to report to your station immediately. A problem has come up with flight Venus II and it is imperative that you come as soon as to you-"

"I'll be there in ten minutes." I said, my heart pounding as I sat up, flipping on my lamp.

"That's our girl!" The man said hanging up. I pulled on my favorite tee shirt over my tank top and grabbed my keys off the bedside table. I dashed out of my apartment room faster than I should've been able to. I ran out into the rain, and didn't even try to dodge puddles as I ran to my car. Please start. Please start. Please start. I thought to myself jamming in the keys and flooring the pedal. The car vroomed to life, whizzing down the street. I slowed down until I was going just over the speed limit, making what would've usually been the ten minute cheery one singing to the radio into a five minute, prayer filled one that seemed endless. When I finally clocked in and ran into the control room I found that it was only me and Theo, my boss.
