It was late night before Joe picked up a rather exhausted and slightly irritated Ant and Dec up from the BAFTA Awards. Both boys didn't particularly feel like attending the after-party, and so they had left earlier than expected with their wives. The pair were tired and dwelling on the fact that unexpectedly, they hadn't won any awards, and as a result, they barely spoke to each other during the ride back to their homes.
Ant was pondering on why the usually successful 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!' had lost the vote of the viewers, and was simply contemplating ideas on how to refresh the show and make it even more appealing. Dec, however, was deeply overthinking things, and his mind was being clouded with even more thoughts. 'What if our spark has gone and the nation doesn't like us anymore?', 'what if Ant wants a new partner to replace me?' 'what if Ant doesn't want to work on TV anymore?' were just some of the thoughts Dec was experiencing, and so many negative emotions were building up inside of him.
After what seemed like a never ending ride, both Ant and Dec were back at their homes. Inside the Donnelly household, Ali was beginning to notice Dec's strange behaviour as she caught him pacing around in the living room as if he was on the brink of solving a murder. Ali walked over to him and went to embrace him in a hug, but as she gets closer she notices the tear stains on his cheeks.
"Declan, what's wrong honey? I've noticed you haven't been yourself this evening, did you and Ant have a fight, because I noticed you didn't speak in the car and usually me and Lisa cannot get you two to be quiet!", Ali questions soothingly. "We didn't argue pet...it's just that...I'm no good..." Dec shakenly replies, and he tries to continue but he finds it difficult to talk whilst sobbing onto Ali's shoulder. "We didn't win...it's all my fault because I'm just boring old Declan Donnelly, failure of everything. I'm holding Ant back...dr...dragging him down, and he isn't going to want me anymore...he...he just stuck by me out of sympathy. I...I should just...". But Dec can't continue as he feels an asthma attack coming. Luckily, Ali retrieves his inhaler and it manages to be effective before the attacks get worse.
Ali holds Dec and tells him to stop talking to silly, and to stop insulting himself because she thinks he is perfect, and it seems to calm him down. Before he can continue his story and make himself worse, Ali suggests that they go and get some sleep, to which Dec complies, and in-between waking up and overthinking, he manages to get a decent-ish nights sleep.
