Piper's intriguing story was interrupted by the school bell which rung one after another in each class room and hallway. The three girls groaned and made there way to registration. There form tutor, Miss Black, was a strict old bat who really, turned out to be harmless. She'd be putting people into detentions that no one would turn up to and giving out empty threats during her lessons, which would repeat for the rest of her life untill she retired.
Eryn, Spencer and Piper walked in one after another. They sat in column of desks together facing the front, one behind another. "Late again girls" Miss Black looked up from the pile of papers in front of her on her desk.
"What? The bell only just rang?" Piper argued as she pulled out her chair and sat down. "Well everyone else managed to be her so I don't think I should give you any special treatment" Miss Black replied with an devilish grin that made Piper cringe. "Bitch" She mumbled, causing Eryn to smirk. The door swung open again. The person who came in grabbed everyone's attention. Two people actually, a student and someone from the school reception. "This is Laurel Parker, she is said to be joining your form today" The receptionist with an obvious fake tan and bleached white hair read off her piece of paper. Miss Black nodded to her after checking a list on her desk, "Miss Parker, sit in the empty seat in the back beside Spencer would you". It was easy for Laurel to know where to sit since there was only one empty seat left.
The girl had dark skin, curly brown highlighted hair tied into a bun. She was wearing a cute orange summer dress which, like what everyone else was wearing, was against the dress code. Spencer gave her a quick welcoming smile. Piper turned to look at her too, although her glare wasn't exactly welcoming.
Eryn turned to look at the girl who had perfect chocolatey skin. Her face shape, perfect too. Her almond shaped eyes, also perfect. It was like nothing was wrong about her. She obviously wasn't at the party since she didn't have huge bruise like shadows under her eyes, and if she was, she was good at covering them up. Piper had removed her shades so you could see hers now. Spencer's wasn't so obvious since she'd applied just the right amount of makeup. Eryn, since she was locked up for most of last night and this morning, didn't have time to cover up. Partly because she was asleep. When she woke up about an hour before school, she applied only a little bit of powder to her face and some dry shampoo to make her hair look the slightest bit presentable.
"Piper" Eryn tried to catch her attention, "Piper!". Piper turned round again, groaning, "What?". "I was thinking maybe after my six hours of community service, which sounds too American to be real, we could go shopping" She was in desperate need to replace the dress she'd wrecked last night. "No I ca-" Then Piper paused, "Actually"
"Hey, Laurel Parker!" Piper shouted down to her. The girl looked up with a puzzled look on her face, so innocent, "Yes?". "Come shopping with us tonight. We'll get you something to wear that isn't too holiday in Ibiza chic" Piper suggested. Should have known she would do something like that, Eryn thought to herself, rolling her eyes.
"I'm sorry, I don't know you" Laurel gave an apologetic smile, even though Eryn could trace a hint of offense in her accent. Piper shrugged, "But you will".
Why did Piper want her to come shopping anyway? Ah Piper. Every time a new girl came, a pretty one too, she felt immediately threatened. When Melanie Hathaway, a girl in the year below came to Richside Academy (Funny name for a public school), Piper hung round with her for about a week and soon enough, she scared Melanie away, or at least that's what she told everyone. Piper never went into detail about her mischeifs, which wasn't exactly one of her "many" redeeming qualities.
Laurel folded her arms and tilted her head, "I'm not in the mood for shopping". Her lips were curving into a grin. "Then lets go to the beach" Piper raised a perfectly sculpted eyebrow challengingly.
"Fine, I'll go" Laurel smirked. She was very.. new girl-ish. Too confident to be a girl whose just arrived. Was making plans to go to the beach with a stranger really what you wanted to on your first day? Although, there was something about Piper that makes it impossible to reject or turn her down.
Piper shot the girl a winning smile before her eyes returned to the front of the class. Miss Black had acknowledged the conversation but didn't want to tell off the new girl, her being only ten minutes into regestration.
Eryn stared down at the orange jumpsuit she had been handed. Was this some kind of joke? It had food and mud stains splattered all over it and it must have been about three sizes bigger. When she held it up against her she though, More like ten.
She got changed into her new "work clothes", then was given a picker grabber. She was then told to pick up all the trash around the Richside. Great, not only do they send her to to pick up trash, but they send her to pick up trash in her hell. She suddenly wanted to be back in jail, cause even that was less embarrassing then this.
She began round the front of the school, trying not to be seen by anyone. She was spotted twice and she swore once she saw the flash of a camera go off.
"Wow, this is just.. wow", She saw three girls, each with a different smart phone in there hands on it's side. Each were filming Eryn pick up litter. She fixed her hair quickly, and turned around again, trying so hard to ignore the sound of their girlish giggles.
How long did she have to stay in this hell?
"What are you wearing?" This time, the voice came from a male. Eryn looked up and saw Marty sitting on the steps out side the school entrance, "Looks like you got paparazzi" He pointed towards the girl filming her.
"I know. They're jealous of my outfit" Eryn replied sarcastically, sighing, annoyed. Marty got up and walked over to her, "This is disgusting.." He mumbled.
The girls' laughs got louder, "Oh look, a trashy couple!". Marty smiled at them, "Only thing that's trashy here are your outfits, oh and if I wanted your opinion I would have knocked on your kennel". The girls gasped, obviously offended.
Eryn dropped her grabber and picked up the huge plastic black bag of the trash she'd picked up. She, calmly, walked over to the girls who were already moving away. She threw the trash over them and smiled sweetly, "There you go, your outfits look much better. Now leave".
