“Sorry Helen” Lexi muttered.
“For now I’ll let you off. But do it again and there will be consequences” My mum joked.
“Don’t scare her mum”
“Sorry Conor. But do you seriously want your little sister and brother going around making all these innuendos at school and then you get the blame of it?”
“Of course not but neither of them are here right now. George and Anna are at school so why now are you giving us into bother?”
“Because Conor, if I don’t do it now, then you’ll both say it around them both and then they will say it”
“Sorry mother. Are the paparazzi still there?”
“Very much so. They went crazy when your dad took Anna to school. I don’t blame you both for the cameras outside, we all expected them when you became famous. And we all knew that they’d be around whenever you announced it about Lauryn”
“So you’ve been gossiping about us?” Lexi asked.
“What, you’re our special children, who gave us a beautiful grandchild so obviously we’d be gushing over her” Honor’s voice rung out.
“MUM!” Lexi screeched. However, she soon regretted it when Lauryn woke back up. Oops. I quickly took Lauryn from Lexi’s arms and rocked her back and forth until she finally fell back over.
“How are you?” Honor asked Lexi.
“Sore and horrified” Lexi admitted. I knew of her being sore but horrified? Nope.
“How come you’re horrified?”
“Just everyone demanding that Lauryn be showed to everyone and anything. She’s still so weak and sick. Yes, she might’ve been given the all clear from the hospital but she’s still not exactly better. And Conor’s manager has already been over and demanded that we appear on TV, when he’s not due back to work until four weeks’ time. It’s just angering me that he thinks he can just force Conor’s daughter on TV, when it’s us that has the say in what she does” Lexi ranted to her mum.
“But Lex, you did tell Alan off quite well. He did bow out the house with his tail between his legs” I intermitted.
“Yes, but he still had a go at you and called me stupid. I ain’t done anything to him”
“Alan absolutely hates girls so therefore that’s why he called you stupid. It’s a pretty stupid reason but it’s why he did it. I know he has no reason to do it but he did. And I apologise on behalf of him. However, mum can you and Honor look after Lauryn for bit? I wanna take Lexi somewhere”
“Sure, we’ll be happy to have her for a bit. I promise there won’t be any shaming or anything before you are too worked up. However, please be safe, the both of you. Especially with everyone still out there”
“We always are but thank you,” I said before passing my mum Lauryn. Lexi looked confused as hell but I was taking her on a little outing. She fully deserved to have some alone time right now. I know everything’s so damn hard on her right now, especially with her not being able to properly do anything with Lauryn, and now with us outing Lauryn to the world it’s even tougher. Sometimes, you have your perspectives changed for the better. Mine has.
Alexis’ POV
I was terrified for where Conor was taking me and as to why he wanted his and my mum to look after Lauryn. We’ve never left her with anyone so separation anxiety is definitely going to take over me.
As Conor and I walked outside, without Lauryn, the paparazzi began going crazy. Asking us awkward questions regarding her. However, we just ignored them and got in the car. Obviously, Conor helped me get in, since I was still a cripple but they were all wondering as to why he was doing so. Don’t they know how long a C-section takes to heal up? Obviously not.
