Lor San Tekka was the name of the guy who gives Poe the map to Luke Skywalker, and is then killed by Kylo Ren. His name isn't mentioned at all in the movie, but I learned it from the Force Awakens Visual Dictionary. His death is the first major death of the new trilogy. I'll have you know that the first time I saw The Force Awakens, I honestly thought Kylo Ren had killed his father in this scene. I mean, the way he and Lor San Tekka were talking really gave me that impression. And it's ironic that I would have that initial thought regarding this death, considering what happens later in the movie.
