"Never again will we do this." My mom told me she said this to my dad when I was born. They were both twenty six at the time, and me just a newborn. But this story isn't gonna be about my whole life. Oh no,this is gonna be a lot more than that. Let's go ahead and jump ahead first grade when I met her,Delilah. My little child mind wouldn't comprehend what she actually meant to me. First day I treated her like everyone else, with kindness, care, and humor. Being the clown of the group was my specialty. That same day I met Delilah I pretty much claimed my job as the joker. How did I do this you may ask? Well we were playing with those Lincoln log things and I dressed up as a policeman;pretending to be the giant police. Looking back and thinking about it I kinda don't know how that would be considered funny but apparently it made all the kids laugh, especially Delilah. Fast forward about six more years and we enter sixth grade. By this time my mind had matured and so had my body, physically and emotionally. My desire for her had risen and I didn't hide it very well,Valentine's day rolled around and I had gotten her a big box of chocolates and this ginormous teddy bear. I practically begged my parents to buy me these two things,in exchanged for my allowance for five months. And guess what she did with them, she just took them, said thanks and almost gave me a hug,but then realized all her friends were there so she just gave me a handshake. What kind of form of gratitude is that? I get her two of the best things "my money" could buy and what do I get in return? A thank you,1/3 of a hug,and a handshake? I didn't get on the bus that day,I walked home through the backside of the school, through the woods. I spoke quietly to my self about things like,"Why would she do that? How does she feel? Is she even the one?" Someone must've heard me cause I heard a faint voice in the distance of the cool auburn forest. "Why does thou feel distressed?" I looked around startled, eyes searching among a dense tree infested area until my eyes found a girl. She looked similar to my age but a bit smaller, she had light brown hair with blonde ends that fade into the autumn ash strands of hair.Skin the color of a cumulonimbus cloud but two shades darker. More like the average white girl but lighter. Eyes the color of the purest emerald. I stood in awe at the women who resembled Delilah almost perfectly. "Well aren't thou distressed?" The girl asked again with her smooth voice. "Oh yeah I'm feeling fine, nothing wrong here." I said, lying through my teeth "Why haveth you chosen to walk this path?" She asked with curiosity. "Just wanted to......ya know.....think about life and stuff." And that's what I was doing, just thinking back on how bad of a day I really had. "But why here of all the places on this blessed earth?" She asked. "It was the closest.....?" I wasn't really sure what to say to a stranger of her caliber. She then began to walk towards me. "You don't know what this place is do you?" She questioned me while moving towards me,eyes completely locked onto mine. I had noticed her diction and accent had changed from colonial to modern. This was rather peculiar. "The woods? There isn't really a name for this place, not that I know of." And this was true,I had always just thought of this place as "the woods". "Well then you're in for quiet the treat,Nathan." She replied as she grabbed onto my arm. How did this girl have such a strong grip? No no no,the better question here is......how did she know my name?
