Driven Madly In Love: Galatea the Nereid

Chapter 1

"Galatea!" One of the nereids called out.

"What?" Galatea said.

"Some sailors need our aid. Want to come along?"

"Sure."

"Galatea, come with me..." Amphitrite inserted.

"But Amphitrite, the rest of our sisters are helping travelers."

"Ofcourse but I want to take you on a tour in the oceans."

"Why do we even need a tour when we already know the depths of the ocean?"

"Just come with me. Let's explore, you used to love exploring with me."

"What about your husband?"

"Let him be. His busy having affairs I guess..."

"Awe. Poor Amphi..." Galatea said sarcastically.

"Gal, what would you say if we race to that shore right there?"

"That's the island of Sicily, Amphi don't you think that's too dangerous. A giant lives there!"

"Well, that's why it's a race. Finish first and don't get eaten."

"Fine."

"1, 2, 3!"

Galatea and Amphitrite raced towards the shores of Sicily.

While on that island...

Polyphemus, the cyclops was leading his flock of sheep and goats in the rocky coast of Sicily.

He was a very lonely creature and all he got for company is his flock.

When he ever strolled in the shores of Sicily, he attacks and harms anyone he sees. Such as, ships and sailors.

WARNING:
No one escapes the fury of this monstrous beast whenever he sees someone in the coast.

"I'm first!" Amphitrite called out.

"You cheated!" Galatea said.

Amphitrite heard Polyphemus's flock so she jumped immediately to the waves and went back to the ocean.

Galatea reached the shore and curiously searched for Amphitrite.

"That cheater just left me. She might have returned to the ocean."

Galatea noticed the beauty of that shore and strolled for a bit.

She didn't notice Polyphemus coming.

Polyphemus saw an intruder on that shore and was about to attack  but when he saw the face of the lovely maiden, he fell madly in love with her.
