The First Day

You awoke with a yawn, and stretched your arms. You got up off your comfy bed, and pulled back the curtains. It was a sunny day, without a single cloud in the sky. You smiled. Today was your first day at work, and you were surprisingly happy.

3 Days Ago

You groaned, already two weeks since the last day of high school and you still hadn't found a summer job. You put your shorts on and pulled your green sweatshirt over your head. You sighed and opened the door, going downstairs to eat breakfast. You were surprised, your mother had made you breakfast, and there was a cut out newspaper ad next to the yellow, glass plate. You lifted up the ad before reading it, finding a note from your mother.
"Sorry honey, I had to leave for work early today. Found a newspaper ad that said help wanted, so I saved it for you. Love you!" Is what it read. You read the ad and grinned. You had just found yourself a summer job!

Present Time Again

After looking back at a couple days ago, it made you excited. You dug in your dresser, finding your favorite shirt. A floral lacy one, that you only wore on special occasions. Then you got your green hoodie and put that on over it. Today was going to be a good day. You walked downstairs and made yourself breakfast, only a small muffin and quick drink of orange juice though, because you were in a hurry. You ran out the front door, the screen shutting with a loud thud! You paced your way over to your teal bike, and road off. The place wasn't too far away from your house, and you liked riding your bike because it saved money, and you got exercise. Your mind was racing with thoughts about the job. "Will they like me? Will I like them? Will I like the job itself?" And other nerve wracking thoughts. Once you reached the diner, you looked up at the sign. The name of the restaurant was written in bold and colorful letters. You parked your bike by the back of the building and walked to the front again. You looked at your phone, the screen read, 10:50. Early like a boss! You pushed the double doors and walked inside. The place seemed really colorful a
nd would probably be a cool environment for kids. You looked around for another person, and saw a man walking towards you. "Hi! You must be (Y/N). The new worker, right?" You shyly nodded and looked away. " Ahh, the shy one I see. Well, I'm your boss and you will be having a partner to work with while you are here. He should be here soon. Oh! And thank you for being on time!" You shyly smiled, and he motioned you to a chair to wait for your partner." You heard the doors open and turned around quickly to see who was there. You saw a boy that looked to be about your age. He blushed. You blushed back.. He walked towards you and said shyly, "H-hi...u-uh... I-I'm J-Jermey.... You m-must be my p-partner... " You were unsure of what to say, so you said "Y-yeah.... My n-name is (Y/N)....." As the day passed on , you mostly walked around and helped kids if needed. Jeremy seemed really well with the kids and was often blushing. He was so cute! You discovered after a lot of stuttering and blushing that you had a lot in common. You both had emerald eyes, Brown hair, and you loved anime, plus you both liked the color green. When the day was over, you already loved the job and where excited for the next day. Before you left, Jermey came up to you and whispered " I-I r-really.... l-like you..." You gushed and could feel your cheeks turning a deep shade of red. "I r-really l-like t-too..." You somehow managed to say. He gave you a small hug before running out to the street, signaling a taxi. You really did like him. Maybe even more than a friend....
