In The Ground

Outside of a kingdom lived a man and his dog. He was a tall, strong and skinny man. His dog was white, with black spots. She was a Australian Shepard labrador retriever. Her eyes were half brown and half blue. They lived in a old abandoned house in the woods. About a mile from their house was the kingdom. Everyone but farmers lived in the kingdom, and the farmers lived just outside on their farms. Tom lived in the woods with his dog Lucy. They would hunt and work for the farmers to survive. They had to be cautious of bears, which could easily break into their home. Their home was made of stone with vegetation growing up it the side of it. They had a wooden roof and a metal chimney on top. Inside was a fireplace and two beds side by side made with hay tied together and  cloth and pelts thrown over it . It had a small counter top, and on the counter was Toms bow and arrows, along with  his sword and sheathe. His sword was rusted at the handle, and it was long and heavy. He had found it on a soldier after the war ten years ago and built the bow himself.
He was proud of it. It had old springs from a rig he found, and he used vines wrapped around each other for the base. The string was from some wool he had gotten off a sheep. Outside was a makeshift farm house with a white horse with a black main, and a few pigs he lived off of when times got hard. Most of his food came from hunting or fishing. He had saved up about 50 coins from his jobs, so he and Lucy went into the kingdom.
It was lively, and had people singing songs. Bars and stores lined the streets. It was a happy place which a lot of other kingdoms were quite jealous of and would wish for it to fall. Which is how the great war happened. The king would not allow the dark king to have some extra food that they drastically needed so they fought and we came out on top. Our king is not a bad person, though he made sure we always had food and water.
After watching some people play some music Tom spotted his friend Steve ."Hi Steve," Steve replied " the queen is throwing a ball and all are welcome you should come if you do I'll let you borrow one of my suits". Steve was a seamster. He mostly made suits for the king and dresses for the queen "Sure, that would be great." Steve states "It's at sun down so before then come to my house and I will give you a suit of your choice " Tom then went into a store the Dragons Tooth he bought some meat a few blankets and a string with a ball at the end the ball was made of bone and weighed about 2 pounds he and Lucy went back to the house when they arrived it was about midday. Tom played with Lucy using her new toy after a while he went down to the stream and cleaned himself and Lucy after they we're done they went home Tom wrapped Lucy in the blankets locked her in the house and headed to the kingdom. He arrived at Steves house a 3 story building towards the center of town the house was big it looked like a small castle. When he arrived Steve showed him to the top floor 5 mannaquins stood with suits on them. Steve said that they we're the best out of all his suits except for the one he was wearing of course. Tom picked a black suit with a blue tie and white undershirt he changed. Tom and Steve went to the ball when they arrived people in expensive suits we're flooding in pushing and shoving eachother threw the door way. The ball room was made of marble with a golden roof that came up to a point the door way had a long marble walk way leading to it the doors we're the size of elephants encrusted with ruby's ,gems and many valuable materials and two of them stood side by side. Once they entered there was red carpet on the floor and tables with food and drinks on them. Against the wall in the front of the room was a large balcany. 20 minutes into the party the princess walked on to the balcaony and spoke " thank you all for coming I have decided to throw this ball because of the wonderful news that I will be crowned queen in less than a week and then be aloud to marry who ever I wish. I might choose one of you in this room " she then walked off of the balcany and down to the floor level the ball went on for quite some time it was almost mid afternoon the next day when Steve and Tom decided to leave. Tom changed back into his torn leather clothes and went to his home when he opened the door a figure rushed toward him and tackled him he soon realized it was Lucy excited to see him. Tom entered the house and grabbed his bow and some arrows he and Lucy went into the woods after one hour of hunting Lucy picked up a scent she started running Tom followed behind her once she stopped they came to a clearing with moose running feet in front of them. Tom drew his bow and shot the biggest bull. The bull then crashed into the ground Tom tied rope around the mooses horns and strung it a few inches up, then he began gutting it putting all the meat and fat into separate piles it soon got dark Tom was finished gutting the animal so he strung everything into a tree and made a small shelter up against a tree with sticks and moss after he was finished he made a fire and crawled into the shelter with Lucy and fell a sleep. When he woke up Lucy was gone he crawled out of the shelter and looked around she was trying to get the meat out of the tree. Tom took the faty pieces and some meat and pierced them with a stick he then placed them over the fire and when they we're finished cooking he ate the pieces of meat and gave the fatty pieces to Lucy after they we're done eating they packed up and headed home.
Once home Tom set the antlers outside and strung the pelt up to a tanning rack he took the leg bones and handed them to Lucy she started chewing the excess meat off of them. Tom then put all the bones into a pile for Lucy and gathered all of the meat and put it in a salt bath. After he finished he built a fire and piered the fatty pieces with a stick and set them over the fire and he waited until they we're cooked once cooked he put them into a small jar and sealed it tightly after the sun went down he went inside the house with Lucy and the two of them went to sleep.After waking Tom finished tanning the moose pelt he placed it on Lucy and made a suit it sat on her back went under her belly and fascined to the other side another small piece went over her ears and on her head to prepare for winter on the sides there we're two pockets so she could carry things. After he finished he took it off of her knowing it's to hot for her to wear it.
Out of the corner of his eye he saw smoke he ran threw the trees and the houses in the kingdom we're on fire panicking her grabbed his sword bow and some arrows and ran to the kingdom with Lucy following behind. Once he reached the kingdom there we're dead bodies every where before he could react he was knocked unconscious when he awoke he was in Steve's house. Steve was sitting in a chair sewing and Lucy was next to him Tom asked " what happened to me and the kingdom "Steve replied" no time to explain " Steve threw Tom his sword and bow and scream " come on follow me " as he jumped out of the window falling on top of a pile of dead bodies Tom grabbed Lucy dropped her out of the window and Steve caught her Tom then jumped out landing on the bodies and vomiting Steve laughed" they'll be time for that later let's go " as he ran towards the castle Tom and Lucy followed once they arrived at the castle Steve hid behind a piller and signaled Tom to hide behind the one next to him with Lucy Tom hide and peared around the pillar it was the dark king he was riding a black horse with red eyes the king was tall skinny and had scars covering his face Tom immediately returned behind the pillar and thought to himself what the dark king was doing there but it struck him he must want to kill the king and queen knowing that the princess would soon be queen the queen only transfers her position if she is I'll and a new queen would mean new position over the dark king so he had to kill them Tom glanced again and the king had the king and queen tied to the horse he rode off with most of his men only two stayed behind once the king was out of sight Tom drew his bow and shot one of the soldiers he fell immediately wearing only torn clothes the dark king did not provide for his people Lucy rushed the other man ripping his throat out of his body Tom Steve and Lucy snuk into the castle pence in there was no one but a closet door moved and someone put a knife to toms throat Steve turned quickly and exclaimed" princess it is I Steve and Tom we're here to help" the process let go of toms throat and stared sobbing" my parents did u help them? Steve side" no we could not there we're to many of them " she begain sobbing harder a voice came from outside Tom grabbed the princess covering her mouth and running up the stairs Lucy and Steve followed he stopped when he reached the top floor and voices could be heard throughout the castle and Tom could here footsteps approaching them he stopped and asked the princess if she could swim she replied " no why would I need to " Tom said" well lie on your back and take deep breathes " throwing her out of the window Tom then grabbed Lucy and threw her out of the window as well climbed into the window and said " follow me Steve " as he jumped Steve ran and jumped out of the window almost being caught by a guard Tom landed in a lake below the princess was struggling to swim he grabbed her and Steve fell behind them they all swam to shore once they reached shore the princess screamed" you could of killed me you fool I can't swim and what about your dog " Tom said " she's a natural swimmer she's had to save me a few times so I figured if you needed it she could save you" as Lucy looked at Tom and smiled " come on let's get moving " said steve so they headed off into the forest they we're moving very slow thanks to the princess having and stopping every 5 minutes but when they came to toms home time grabbed the meat Lucys pack and other supplies and gave ex the princess a old pair of shoes Tom said " here put these on you'll walk faster in tennis shoes " the princess replies " eww there been worn and these are expensive shoes " Tom replied angirly " more expensive then your life" the princess replied "no" and put on the shoes Tom then told Lucy to dig and pointed at the ground she .made a hole about a foot Deep and about the size of a shoe box Tom put the princesses shoes in the hole and she scream " what do you think your doing " Tom replied " getting rid of the evidence that you we're here just saving us no buggy" Steve said " shut up both of you your nagging" he points to the princess " and your will to annoy her" pointing at tom Tom looked at Lucy pointed to the shoes and said bury she then buried the shoes and they began walking after about 20 minutes the princess" said that's it we're are we going " Tom said " to get your parents princess" the princess replied " well your going in the wrong direction and it's Sarah my name " Tom replied " okay Sarah we're going to get an army we can't take out those people by ourselves well not if we want to live"Lucy cowarded and wined Tom bent down and said " she's never wind before not even when she was attacked by a bear" Tom stopped and started shaking he put his finger to his lips to shuah everyone grabbed his belt wrapped it around Lucy from her chest to her back and tied a string on the buckle which came out in two long ends he handed one end to Sarah and one end to Steve he whispered to Steve "she'll take you we're you need to go here he handed him a coin with the initials s.f on it and said take this to the man inside of the potion shop " before Steve could reply Tom snapped and Lucy dragged them off Tom was alone at least that's what Sarah and Steve thought Tom sat down and drew his sword during his palm and wiping the blood on the blade he stood up and scream "come at me" meanwhile Steve and Sarah we're following Lucy until she brought them to an old town with few people Steve started sobbing when they arrived Sarah asked" whats wrong " Steve replied " the only way he would of handed Lucy over to someone else is if he thought or new she was going to die with him " Sarah looked down and saw Lucy whimpering winning and trying to go back but she was being held by Steve Steve herd a grunt and Tom fell to his knees behind them covered in blood with cuts all over him Steve grabbed him and Lucy ran under him before he fell on his face Lucy could barely hold him shaking under the weight Steve picked Tom up and took him in to the potion shop and handed the coin to the man the man gasped grabbed Tom and asked if Lucy was harmed Steve replied " no " the man ran into a back room and started pooring alcohol in his wounds each time Tom scream finally one Tom was cleaned the man sewed him up Steve asked " will Tom be okay " the man replied" yes but he won't be able to walk for a few days with injuries this bad so until you can stay here" and he jetured to two rooms with mattresses and small dressers in them Steve asked " what is your name " the man replied " Charlie " Steve thanked him and he and Sara left to explore the town until Tom was better most of the people in the town however we're unfriendly at best they would ignore them give them dirty looks and even curse at them when night came Steve and Sarah went back to the potion shop When they arrived at the potion shop Tom was sitting on the couch with scars all over him he was eating soup Steve a nd Sarah sat on both sides of they asked him what happened to said " after you two left an urgulk atacked me " urgulk we're beats the size of small elephants they had long tusks stood on two legs with shaggy back hair they usually carried shields and giant axes Tom said " it came out of the bushes charging me I jumped out of the way i sliced it's back and took of running it was to fast grabbing me and throwing me into the trees I latched onto a branch he swung his axe and I jumped barely escaping it I then fell to the ground cutting myself it cutt my back before I could ecscape running faster now I tripped over a branch and cut myself then I lost him and found you two" Steve replied " I've never heard of surviving a urgulk encounter " after they we're done talking they went to sleep when they awoke there was armor and new clothes and weapons at the foot of there beds even Lucy got some armor it turns at Charlie was a expert black Smith after they we're finished they thanked Charlie and went into the woods they walked for days but after .a week they aarived at there destination It was a city bigger than Steve and sarah had ever seen before the walls stood tall made of concrete with thousands of names engraved in them in the front was a door such was concrete the only way to open it was to lift the giant gates with pulleys and horses this city was built for war Tom said as they entered once in the ground was made of stone with small houses as they moved in bigger and more protected houses were farther in once they reached a bar they stopped Tom slid a coin to the bartender Tom stood up and they left the city just outside Tom grabbed a stick and began poking the ground Steve exclaimed wait the he'll are you doing Tom replied I'm looking thud Tom went to the ground in covering a hatch he opens it and began walking down a staircase Steve and Sarah followed behind once they came to the end there was a steel door Tom knocked twice and then spoke I am the fair king cj the door opened and a large man walked out and handed Steve and Sarah drinks they drank the man was short bald but we'll built with a pointed chin Steve and Sarah fell to the floor the old man grabbed them and dragged them when they woke up they were in a room with Tom it was a giant room with tabbles and chairs Steve exclaimed how did we what happened Tom said it's all good were here to get help the man walked out of no where and handed them the finest steeds they were both white and musculir they saddled them and Tom saddle his and strode running down a hall way with Lucy following on foot they soon reached the staircase and went to the surface Steve said weres the army softly chuckling Tom said they'll be here hundreds of men soon arrived on horses Tom spoke let's ride they all went into the woods going as fast as they could Doon they arrived at a giant fotress it was dark and strong full of soldiers Tom got of of his horse and spoke tonight we take the kings head the men began drilling into the wall once threw everyone spread out they began clearing a path for them after no time at all Tom Steve Sarah and Lucy arrived at the gates of the kings castle before opening they herd screams they ran to the screams there was the king and queen being taken on horses riding quickly Tom jumped on a brown horse and rode with Lucy close behind Steve and Sarah were left behind Tom drew his bow gaining ground he scream sick them Lucy latched on to one of the horses ankles bringing it down Tom fired hiring one of the riders he became closer to the king and queen then darkness and silence Tom awoke looking at his surroundings he was in a cell with only a mattress a bucket and Lucy she was lying on Tom bleeding her beautiful white hair was red Tom jumped up he was covered In her blood he dropped to the ground looking for a wound on her the further he looked the more bloody it got the door to his cell blew open a tall broad man wallked in carrying a tray and a sword ant his waste the man laughed and spoke you fool she's jumped into a butchery she's not wounded you sad fool Tom scream lunging at the man before he could react Tom pulled his sword and stabbed the man threw his eye and out of the back of his skull the man tumbled over and Tom ran with Lucy following him a man began shouting by the time Tom hit the end of the hall he turned a corner and they stood 20 men with arrows drawn aimed at toms head they sooon tumbled to the ground the bald man Steve and Sarah stood Steve had two body bags on his back Tom asked what were did Steve scream it's the king and queen we need to move Tom Steve got on to one horse while the bald man and Sarah got on to another they rode of into the forest soon theey were back to the kingdom all the men were dead how Tom exclaimed before he could react the gate closed locking everyone out Tom pulled a sword out of a man's Shea the the dark king jumped of off. A ledge Tom went to strike him but the king partied his blow laughing you fool and struck Tom on his arm it began bleeding Tom reacted stabbing at the king but his armor was to thick before he could think Tom ran the king chasing him he grabbed a torch and hide inside of a wooden house but the king never showed Tom peeked his head out side the gate was open he ran threw it there lied Lucy dead drenched in blood the king came behind Tom putting the blade to his throte sliting it Tom tumbled over gasping for air the king laughed you can't stop me he gloated not painting attention Tom grabbed the torch and waited the king bent over Tom put the torch to his head striking him with his fist until the king laid lifeliss buring next to Tom he pulled out a bow and arrow used the kings body to lit it and shot into the air and began passing out the next day Steve and Sarah returned finding Tom dead Steve knelt over his body sobbing he cleaned toms face and buried him near the kingdom Steve said at least there together as he put Lucy under toms arms and placing them into a coffin once buried there headstone read they were the king and queens saviors Tom and Lucy bunch
