Chapter 1



Ivory's POV



Waking up in the morning with the birds chirping outside my window and the sunlight peeking through my curtains, making the room warm. I flutter my eyes open, adjusting with the brightness of the sun. I let out a loud yawn as I stretched my body, letting my muscles relax. Hearing vibration going against the table, I look to the left to see my phone vibrate. I grabbed it to check who might be texting me early in the morning. Looking at the name made me smile because it was my bestfriend, Natalie.




Natalie: Happy 18th birthday! I wish you a great day and that you would find your mate. I would be waiting at the entrance of the school.




Today is July 21, me and Ryan's birthday. We are turning eighteen which means that we will be meeting our mates today or if not soon. A tear fell from my eyes as I realize that it has been two years that I haven't shifted. Most people my age would tease me but I am grateful my parents and my brother accepted me.




On our sixteenth birthday, me and Ryan went to the woods to prepare for the shifting. We waited for a few minutes before I could see Ryan shift into a dark brown wolf, almost black. Looking at myself, I am still in human form. It took me a few hours before finally giving up. I cried as Ryan's wolf comforted me with his soft fur. We had gone home and saw my parents sad faces, looking directly at me before giving me a hug. Some pitiful faces of the other pack members made me even cry more.




My parents are one of the strongest warriors in the pack while my twin brother, Ryan is the beta so that makes me a shame in the family. For the past two years of my life, I had seen my parents and my brother fighting while I just stay with the kids at the safe house. My parents would always tell me that I am just a late bloomer but I totally doubt it.



I would be or might be meeting my mate today. Hopefully he doesn't reject me because I can't shift. With that thought in my mind, more tears are falling down my cheeks as I feel hopeless. My mom would always tell me to be strong and think of the positive so I wiped away the tears from my eyes.





I threw my blanket to the side and swang my legs out of my bed. I stood up and head to my bathroom. Opening my shower, I took off my pajamas and got in the warm shower.






After the refreshing shower, I wrapped my towel around me and started walking to my closet. Picking my teal colored dress that goes up to my mid thigh with a brown belt around it. I went to my body length mirror to take a look at myself.





I got average looks with long dirty blonde hair, blue green eyes and a slim figure with a height of 5'8. Ryan share the same look as I do since we're twins but his height is 6'2.We got our dirty blonde hair from our mom but the eyes belong to our dad. Our mom has dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes while our dad has brown hair and blue green eyes.






I put my hair up in a ponytail then put on my silver flats. Unlike other girls, I am not a fan of make-up. I got my backpack then went out of the room just in time to see Ryan getting out of his room just beside mine.






'Happy Birthday!'




We greeted one another before hugging each other the way we always do when we have our birthday.




" Happy Birthday, sis"




" Same to you, bro"






We both walked down the stairs while we were greeted by some of the pack members. As we entered the kitchen, mom hugged us in one of her bone crushing hugs.






" Happy Birthday you two, you guys can finally meet your mate!"






Once she lets go of us, I can finally feel air going through my lungs. Dad approached us and gave us each a gentle hug.




" Happy Birthday, here is our gift, you both deserve it"






He gave us a pair of keys and my eyes widened. I looked at Ryan to see he had the same reaction.





" Well, don't just stand there check it out inthe garage" our dad chuckled.




He didn't even have to say it twice before two of us came running out of the entrance door and to the garage. There stood a white and black 2014 Mazda MAZDA6.






" I call for the black one!" Ryan said. Walking up to the black car after handing me the keys to my new car. He started the engine with a loud roar and with that he started heading to school with his new car. Excited much? He didn't even eat breakfast yet.




I walked back in the pack house and started making myself a bowl of cereal at the kitchen. My phone started ringing so I answered it without even looking at who the caller is.




" Hello?"




" Ivory, you have to come to school as soon as possible!"




" Why?"




" Well, you know Alpha George's son, Xavier Fox who he sent to boarding school six years ago?"




" Yeah, what's the problem?"




" He is back to get the title of the Alpha since he is retiring from his position and he is joining our batch for the senior year. He is so freakin' hot! You have to see him"




" Woah, chill there. Okay, I will be there in five minutes"




" Okay, see you soon"




I hung up the phone while finishing my cereal. Xavier Fox, son of Alpha George and Luna Charlotte, is coming back. He used to be bestfriends with Ryan before he left. I wasn't really close to him before since I always hangout with Natalie.





After finishing my cereal, I put my dirty dishes at the sink then head off to the garage. I opened my car and started the engine before driving off to school.





It took me a few minutes before I am parking my car infront of the school. I got my backpack from the backseat then I went out of the car, going to the entrance of the school. From far away, I could see Natalie leaning against the wall beside the entrance doors, reading a book. Once I reach the entrance doors, she lifted her head up with a bright smile.




" Good, you're finally here. Now I can show you my gift!"




She reached for something in her shoulder bag. It appeared to be a small box in her hands.




" Close your eyes"




"Okay"




I closed my eyes. Soon I could feel something cold around my hand.




" Okay, now open your eyes"




I flutter my eyes open to see a charm bracelet around my hand. It is a silver bracelet with different designs on it.




" It is a friendship bracelet. I also have one almost identical to yours"




" Thank you so much"



Natalie is the bestfriend you could ask for. She was always with me through hard times. I remember when we were six, it was the first time we met when she accidentally spilled chocolate on my favorite shirt. We were always together for the whole twelve years.




We hugged each other when the first period bell rang. I have English while Natalie have History so we went our seperate ways.




" Bye, I will see you at lunch"




I went inside the hallways and went to my locker. Getting my English book, notebook and my pen, I head out to my English class. When I went in the room, I smelled the most incredible scent. The woods and chocolate. I looked around the classroom before my eyes found a pair of forest green eyes staring back at me.




It's Xavier Fox with his chocolate brown hair and forest green eyes staring at me. I examined his features before I saw Alexandria beside him, holding on to his arm and her head on his shoulder. Alexandria is the slut around here with her golden blonde hair, hazel eyes and a figure for a supermodel.






I noticed that I was still standing by the door so I walked up to the back of the classroom and sat at the seat around the corner. Mr. Ronaldson told us to write an essay about our book report but everytime I would write a word, I kept glancing at Xavier's back.





After English class, I was suppose to talk to Xavier about the mate thing but once the bell rang, he stood up from his chair and ran outside. I gathered all my things and went out of the classroom. I tried looking for Xavier but I had no luck.




I was walking to my locker when I suddenly bumped into a guy. My books came flying down the floor but I was busy examining the guy. I've never saw him here in this school before. Maybe he is just new. I tried sniffing the air but I don't smell anything on him. He has blonde hair and bright blue eyes.




" I'm sorry, I didn't see you"




He bent down and picked up my books.




" No, it's okay. It was my fault anyway, I wasn't looking at where I'm going"




He gave me my books back and sent me an apologetic smile. The bell rang signalling the start of the next class.




" I better get going or else I will be late for my next class"




" Okay, see you around"




He started walking to the opposite direction as me so I ran to my locker. People are already going in their classrooms. I got my Science book and lab apron. The tardy bell rang and I knew I am late. I ran to the other side of the building where the Science class is while thinking of an excuse to why I am late.



I was running down the hallway when I was pushed against the wall and that's when I felt the sparks run through my veins. Looking up to see his eyes, I was captivated by the color of it.




" I don't want you" he said harshly. My brain is not functioning and my ears became deaf as I hear his words.




" W-what?" I stuttered.




" I. Don't. Want. You"




I felt tears flow down my eyes rapidly as I let his words sink in my mind.





" W- why?"



" You are worthless. You don't deserve to be my mate. You don't fit as a perfect Luna to the pack"



More tears fell from my eyes and by now my cheeks were soaked while I look at him. His face is blank and no expression was written.



" I, Xavier Fox, rejects you, Ivory Smith as my mate and Luna of the pack"



My heart stopped. I am having a hard time to breath. My heart felt like it was crushed and torn apart. How could he do this to his own mate, the one who is destined to be with him. The one he was suppose to love with all his heart.




I fell on the ground and cried my heart out, feeling the pain of rejection. I knew this was going to happen but I never thought it would hurt this bad.




After watching me cry for a few seconds, Xavier walked away. My heart shattered as I cry at the cold floor.

After hearing the bell ring a few times, I just sat at the empty bench at the school field. It is almost lunch in a few minutes. I decided to skip all my classes today and get some fresh air.




The fresh wind blowing at your face. The clear blue sky with the trees makes a beautiful scenery. It was relaxing.



" Hey"



I turned around and saw the same guy who I bumped with today. He was smiling down at me and I couldn't help but to smile back.



" Hi, aren't you suppose to be in class?" I asked curiously.



" Decided to skip" he smiled.



" Oh" I response.



" Are you okay?"



" Not really" I reply with a small smile.



" Well, I was gonna take a walk at the woods, would you like to join me?"





I thought about his offer for a while. It's good to have a walk at the woods and keep myself calm but the problem is that I don't even know this guy. He seems nice anyway and if he tries anything on me, I learned self defense when I was a kid.



" Sure"



I stood up from the bench with him on the lead. The field was the only place separating us from the woods. Passing through the field and into the woods, I hear the crows up in the sky and the trees making noises.



" So your mate rejected you" he told. My eyes widened at his statement. He is a werewolve but how come I can't smell him.



" Your a werewolve!?"



" Yeah"



" But how come I can't smell you?" I asked while we were still walking, his back facing me.



" I can hide it"



" How?"



" Can't tell you. It's a secret"



" So what pack did you come from?" I asked. Surely he wasn't part of my pack since I never saw him in my life until now. Maybe he is from another pack but how come he is studying in the school here.



" Actually I'm a rogue"



Before I could even move a muscle, a handkerchief covered my mouth and nose. My eyes became blurry as black spots started to appear before I fell into deep sleep.
