It was the end of the day, the sun was setting. Casting a beautiful array of colours across the sky, bright pinks and pale oranges to deep purples and dark blues. As the sun dipped just under the horizon.
A cold breeze swiped the area with a sense that it was the start of winter. It was chilly and quite cold to ware you needed at least a long sleeved shirt with two jumpers on and long pants to kept you warm enough.
The street lights started to turned on, creating little spot lights on the road. It was getting dark quicker than normal, lights from houses across the street turned on too.
The sky completely turned into a black blanket with little white dots splashed against it. The shining stars seem to it's proper place, filling in the empty spaces in the sky.
Every little detail was prefect tonight, no clouds in sight. A full bright white moon hung above everything. The wind die down a little just to bee a light breeze that tugged against your hair every so often.
Vik, a young adult with charcoal black hair, his dark chocolate brown eyes wide and open as he looked up at the sky. His eyes followed the many constellations that filled the night sky with such great beauty.
He followed the gray, hard pathway along, away from all of the large, loud houses. He headed straight to the open fields that surrounded the town. Where it was peaceful and no lights were seen other than the stars shining lights above.
The young Vik got to the grassy fields. They were, however not overgrown to a point where the grass and weeds grew up past your knees. But simply they were just tall as Vik's ankles, and Vik was a pretty small person.
He had made his way through the fields of green grass, the grass tickled Vik's ankles as he walk over them. Since Vik decided to go bare-footed tonight, he could feel the short grass curled under his feet as he stepped.
Finally after walking so far, he finally found a nice place to sit and lie down. Normally every night Vik would sneak out of his house just before dusk and go out into the fields. Being a person who still lives in his parents home. They never liked anyone going out at night.
Vik laid his body down onto the soft grass that almost felt like a bed, being that there is still tiny rocks under him. He felt quite comfortable.
Then Vik, just looked up at the sky, all it's beauty, right in front of his eyes. The night sky was just filled with shining stars, giving off it's own colours of light. It even seem that each star was dancing above, something like that seem crazy. But laying here with his eyes just staring out them, it didn't seem at all.
Only being out there for 10 minutes and already Vik became to feel very sleepy, at first Vik thought this would be very unlikely since he just loved being out here. But for some reason he just closed his eyes. Letting his tiredness take over.
But before he could got into a deep sleep, some type of noise awoke him, scared it was some type of animal then Vik shot up and went into a sitting position.
Then he just gasped, array of little balls of light surrounded him, Vik could just faintly see that each ball of light held an actual form. The lights were connected and formed shapes of animals. Straight away Vik knew what they were.
Vik had been studying the stars above for many years and he knew that the creatures around him that was formed but stars itself. Were all of the 12 main constellations or more well known as the Zodiac signs; in their animal forms.
Vik was amazed at this such beauty that unfolded in front of him. He turned his head as scanned all of the Zodiac star signs. Then as he completely turned around, he noticed someone else standing behind him, whoever it was. The guy stood next to Aries, the ram.
Vik studied that character with interest, the guy was dressed very medieval like, his clothes was clearly made out of silk and was laced. He blinked at Vik then flashed a large smile. Vik grinned right back, his eyes then studied more of his clothes, they were patterned with many small dots and stars.
The guy was rather very tall compared to Vik. The tall guy also had golden blonde hair that shines under the star light, and he had the brightest blue eyes that Vik had even seen.
Vik eyes widen slightly as the taller blonde walked closer to him. Vik didn't seem to be imitated at all, but however he felt.. safe?
The blonde got closer but made it that they had enough space between each other. He looked down at Vik with a smile before he put out his hand, as he wanted Vik to grab it. Vik looked at it questioningly.
"Do you want to see the stars.. in a different way?" The blonde guy asked.
Vik questioned himself, he loved the stars and galaxies above. But did he really want to go with some stranger who just came out of no where?
"Yes" It was all Vik could have said, he went against his head that told him it was very strange and dangerous. But he just felt like he needed to so he just laid his hand on top of the blonde's.
Then the tall blonde started to rise up into the air with Vik following close behind.
They rose and they rose, high above the ground. Still going up, Vik would normally be scared and probably crying his eyes out but he just felt so safe with the tall blonde.
Vik looked at the guy with a small grin, the guy however was looking somewhere else to noticed him staring.
"So what is your name?" Vik asked.
"Name?" The blonde said as he turned and face the smaller male.
"Yeah. You do have a name right?" Vik grinned at him.
"Well yes. But I never really found that names are important. They are just labels but-" the guy paused. "if you need one. My name is Lachlan"
"My name is Vik.."
"I know." Lachlan smiled.
"How did you kn-"
Lachlan cut him off by him putting his pointer finger on his own lips. He then stopped both of them floating as Vik realized that both of them were above clouds.
Vik gasped as he looked around him. It was just like a show of lights. Stars were around him, shaping into mini galaxies or suns. It was beautiful to watch. A big smile formed across his face.
Lachlan chuckled at the smaller male's reaction before he let go of his hand. He then raised his hand up and grabbed a brunch of stars, he cupped his hands around them and brought them down to eye level.
Vik watched Lachlan as he slowly opens his hands, then it appeared to be that a very small super nova began to form. Being very small it didn't seem to be affecting anything around but the nova let off such beautiful colours that can not be explained or described.
This probably happened for hours, Lachlan showed Vik the many wonders of space; such as black holes, the creation of the Milky Way the birth of mini suns and many more things.
But the night did have to end. Lachlan slowly put Vik down back on the ground. They talked but as the sun slowly arising from it short sleep. Lachlan disappeared just like the stars.
Strangely Vik didn't not go home but he found himself waking up in the midden of the field. Not remembering going to sleep, he went back home with all of that still fresh in his mind.
Many years go by and Vik still questions if that whole thing was just a dream or not. Him waking up in the field could mean that he just dreamt it. But it just felt so real, and it was quite sad that he could never see that Lachlan guy ever again.
But every night he would go to that same spot in the same field and hope that it would happen again. Just one more time...
