I looked out the window hearing the rain drops hit the roof of the car. The noise over powered the music giving a fast speed, uneven, beat. I turned around enough to hit the volume button. I tried to make the music louder but static sounded throughout the car, the station had lost it's signal. I opened the cover of my iPad and unraveled the headphones. I put both of them in and hit play to my favorite playlist. I turned the music up and looked back out the window. Every song that played seemed to change my view on the world. The upbeat music made me look at the good things and everything seemed to be beautiful, shining and glowing. A slower song came on and my mood went back to normal, it always seemed to. The rain came down harder, I continued to look out the window, I watched the raindrops smear across the window from the forceful wind outside. One drop would smear into another and the now bigger drop left a thick trail, the smaller raindrops following the trail collecting and leaving more marks. Some raindrops started on the same trail but veered off on its own. A couple of them stayed still because the wind didn't push them. I didn't know it then, but the raindrops were more than just water, but they represented almost everyone in this world. Some leaders, some co-leaders and joining, but they have to wait for someone to start it off. Others are followers, or some people following but then giving up. Then there were people like me, we don't move because nothing motivates us to, we were lost, adrift.
