Aaron + Emily
Emily and Aaron had been fighting for weeks. Their friendship was crumbling in their hands and they couldn't fix it. The two girls were on the verge of giving up. They met up, Emily determined to fix things. Her last chance.
She arrived at Aaron's house when her family had left. The two broken girls stood in the middle of Aaron's empty living room. They could barely speak to each other. Emily was bursting with the hope they could fix this and that everything would be okay. She needed Aaron. Aaron was her backbone.
Aaron however, had just given up. She was tired of this. She was trying to move on. She had gotten depressed over all of this and her mood swings were getting the best of her. She grew more hostile every day. She didn't want to see Emily because as much as she was trying to hate Emily, she still didn't want to hurt Emily. She was scared but remained silent.
Emily made a move to speak first, breaking the deafening silence. "So... Can we try to fix this... One more time?"
"It's always the last time. 'One more time'. How many 'one more times'?" Aaron replied, harsher than originally intended but she stood with her response.
Emily took her words in like knives and swallowed, pressing her lips together tightly.
Aaron looked at her and just stared, blank emotion in her eyes. Thoughts running over in her mind. Finally, she spoke quietly.
"Just leave, Emily. It's over."
"No." Emily responded weakly.
"What?"
"I said no." Emily was more firm with her answer this time, tears hiding behind her eyes.
Aaron got a nervous twitch. She was getting frustrated.
"Leave, Emily! It's done!" Aaron yelled to the girl she once called her best friend.
Emily got in Aaron's face and spoke boldly. "I'm not leaving till we fix this."
Aaron pushed Emily hard, shoving her away. Emily stood in shock for a moment before walking to Aaron and pushing her back. They shoved each other for a few moments until Aaron lost her nerve and punched Emily square in the cheek.
Aaron panted a moment. Not from fatigue but from anger building inside her. She showed no sign of remorse.
Emily stumbled back. Aaron had a stronger punch than she thought. She held her hand to her cheek and tasted the metallic sensation of blood in the back of her mouth. She stared at Aaron, horrified.
Aaron started to walk towards her and Emily darted down the hall and into Aaron's parent's room, taking cover behind their bed. Aaron followed her in and stood above her, looking down at Emily with no emotion. She kneeled down to Emily and looked her in the face.
"I told you to leave while you could, Emily."
And with that statement, Aaron punched Emily again. Harder this time. Emily took in a gasp of fear as Aaron punched into her face repeatedly. Emily's cries were muffled by the blood filling her throat.
Aaron grinned at what she had done to the girl she had once considered a sister. She pulled back to pop her fingers, shaking the blood off her hand and looking at Emily once more.
Emily's choking sobs were resonating through the empty house. Pained echoes heard in every room. She shakily brought her hand up to wipe some of the pouring blood from her face which proved to be pointless as more gushed from her busted lips and nose.
Aaron spoke again. Her tone was quiet and eerie.
"Go home."
"N-" Emily coughed up blood and took in a deep breath. "No."
Aaron's rage had completely taken over at this point. She lost all control and punched Emily once again, standing back up and kicking her in the stomach with great force.
Emily's wind was kicked out of her as she curled into a ball, holding her stomach. She didn't regret this. She felt it was deserved though it wasn't. That wasn't why Aaron was doing this. Aaron had just gone crazy.
Aaron let out a laugh and kept kicking. She then lifted Emily by her collar and punched her a few times before letting go. Emily's head hit the drawer when she fell back.
Aaron went back in for another kick before looking at the drawer where Emily hit her head. She got a twisted idea. Her dad's gun was in that drawer. The 40cal Swith and Wesson hand gun. She let out a twisted chuckled and grabbed it. It was loaded for home protection.
Aaron grabbed the gun from the drawer and pointed it at Emily.
"Leave!"
"No!"
Aaron cocked the gun, a bullet falling into the chamber.
"I said leave!"
"I said no!"
Aaron leaned down and put the gun's barrel in Emily's mouth. A tear falling down Emily's cheek.
"Last chance, Emily."
Emily paused as if she considered it but shook her head solemnly.
Aaron paused.
"Fine. Goodbye."
She squeezed the trigger.
The gun fired.
The bullet traveled through Emily's brain and blew out the back of her head onto the wall.
She died instantly.
And that was the end of their friendship.
Forever.
