So, on with the story:
November 30, 2430; near midnight.
Grewyn's Capitol, Nox.
"Behold, my people!" The woman shouted. "Tonight, we will witness the hanging of the traitors, the magick users! We shall rejoice in...." She rambled on, her form leaning over the mob of Lurkers, Norms, and Cyborgs below, relishing the attention her people gave her. For this, this is what she lived off of: the attention and power the people gave her. And then, there was that: the fear of the Diviners, the creatures who practice the use of control over a certain element. Oh, how she loved that fear. For centuries, she had hunted them down, spilled their blood, and feasted on their brains...
And now she will wipe them out. They will be history, remembered as cruel, bringers of evil, just like how she wanted them to be seen as. She boasted about her achievements, how she brought the end to the magick users, and how she will now kill the last. She hissed about the deeds of the Diviners, how they brought terror to people, and how they killed entire cities with a wave of their hands.
Of course, all of this was a lie; the Diviners were, in fact, the exact opposite. And that was why she had them killed. The Diviners made people question her rule, how she was unworthy of being Hive Queen of Grewyn, and that was unexceptable.
She swung around and stalked to the stakes, where the remaining two Diviners were tied to, their hands and feet bound with Krufium, the ore able to contain and reduce power of the wearer. The younger one, a girl of about 13 sun cycles old, was crying.
"Please don't, Hive Queen!" She wailed. Angelica- for that was her name- screamed as the fire licked at her bare skin, threatening to burn.
"Oh, little Angel," She cooed, sickly sweet. Angelica flinched away, whimpering. "I hear you were a Fireuser, Angel. Use the power." Poison. Angelica was young, but she knew that it was poisonous words that the Queen spoke. Angelica had just discovered her inheritance, and was barely able to stop the flames from reaching her. The Krufium was sucking her strength away, like a hummingbird with nectar.
The Queen left Angelica there, and stalked to the older boy on the other stake- Angelica's brother. The 18 year old was straining against the bubbling, liquid silver below him. The chains were lowering him slowly down into the concoction, and he was unable to stop.
"Marcus, dear." She purred, batting her eyelashes. "I hear you can control metal, correct?" Marcus glared at her, and gritted his teeth.
"What are you doing to my sister!?" He screamed, causing the mob below to boo, and throw rocks and pebbles at him.
"Mark, dear, Angie is fine. She is a Fireuser, you know."
"Why are you doing this!?!?"
"Why, I thought you knew! Your entire race has destroyed me!!!!"
Marco froze. "What?"
The Queen ignored him, and instead called to the Tiers at the lever. "Let them drop."
A screech dragged out for exactly twelve seconds. Midnight.
"Now!" She ordered. And almost immediately, Marcus shouted out his sister's name as she let out a tortured wail. Her own element was consuming her alive. Her wails were joined with Marcus's screams, as the mob below began to cheer. The last Diviners were dead.
Or so they thought.
