Travis is 7 and Katelyn is 5
Katelyn's POV
Mommy thinks I was never meant to be alive. Why? Why am I so bad? I'm trying to be good, and I'm horrible! I don't wanna be around them anymore!!! I'm leaving. Permanently. I don't wanna be around anyone anymore! So, I grab my backpack, water bottles, and dried fruit and veggies and powder, and run out the door. I also grabbed books with pictures of people fighting. As soon as I went out, I saw a boy fighting the guards of our little town, FireRose. No one knows about it. Then, I kick all the guards in their areas.(Ya know what I mean.) then they ran and dropped the boy. He panted for a while, then looked at me. "Are you okay, light-blue haired girl?" I said back,"Yeah. My name is Katelyn."
"Travis."he said after. I asked, "Why do the guards want you?" He said, "I'm running from my mom and dad. They're mean." Then I said, "Me too. Why don't we run away from our mommy's and daddy's together?" He said. "Yeah."
Travis' POV
"Yeah." I reply. The girl, Katelyn, had ice-blue hair and lake-blue eyes. She was little, about 5 or so. I was 7, and had skipped a grade. I don't like to show I did, though. I don't like the weirdness of me. Then, I snapped out of thought when Katelyn said "We have to go!!!" I agreed. Then we ran into the woods, never to be seen by our parents again. Yet the moment We ran into the woods, we heard a shout."ATTACK!!!" I then whisper to Katelyn, "There's an attack on the village." "By who?" She asked me, and I replied, once I'd seen the uniforms, "the most powerful village in the land, O'Khasis." Then, we ran further into the woods, just barely hearing them yell, "YOU WILL SURRENDER YOUR VILLAGE TO O'KHASIS OR DIE!!!!" And then, we ran all the way to where O'Khasis could'nt find us. They were looking hard for us. We set up camp in an old, hollowed-out, yet abandoned, tree. I couldn't believe O'Khasis wanted us. We were little kids! I thought, before drifting to sleep.
