Austin's POV
My whole family is average. My mom: average. My papa: average. My brother: average. My twin sister: average. All average. We aren't normal, if anything we're far from normal, we're just average. Very simple, very plain. Like one scoop of vanilla ice cream in a cup. Not even a come. Me? Well, I'm like the cherry on top.
My mom is the average height for a twenty-nine-year-old woman. She's got dark brown eyes and matching hair with a pale complexion. That's it. Nothing special. Her name is even average: Sofia.
My papa is the same thing. Except he has honey colored eyes and dusty brown hair. Again, there isn't anything worth talking about, even thought that seems mean. It's true, there really isn't. I mean, his name is also normal: Brandon.
Now, my older brother, Johnny, is an exact mixture of my parents. He has my mom's hair and my papa's eyes. The only thing is he has too many freckles, and he gets that from my grandpa on my moms side. Johnny. Ugh, BORING.
Zendaya, my twin, is only about 15% not average. She has dusty brown hair like my papa, and brilliant ice blue eyes that feather out, like mines, at the end. She's tall and sorta tan, like me, with no freckles. Zendaya's personality is anything but normal. As the most popular girl in our middle school, everyone knows her. All the guys like her, all the girls wish they were her.
And then there's me. I am what you call the "odd one out." That is exactly what I am. The odd one out.
I don't fit in with my family. While they have brown hair, I have golden -almost blonde- hair. They have brown eyes, I have crazy colored eyes, that go from gray, to green, to blue, to gold. I have a few freckles scattered across my high cheek bones and even though I'm fourteen, I'm about 5'5" which is taller than in supposed to be. Everything about me screams: NOT PART OF THE 'LA RUE' FAMILY! I mean, I don't even look Greek or Italian, which are the two races my parents are; my papa is Italian and my mom is Greek.
(Yes, I know how to speak both languages.)
The same thing goes for my personality; I'm nothing like my family. My parents are shy and quiet and they love math. My brother is sorta shy and sorta nerdy and is a total player. My sister is popular and smart and sensitive and, honestly, insecure. Me, I'm the total opposite. I'm anything but shy and I am a total "nerd." I love school, but not math, and I love, love, love archery, horseback riding, and running.
The most odd thing about me is my full name: Austin Atalanta La Rue. First off, whenever someone hears my name, they think Oh, Austin is probably a boy! But when they see me, they're like Austin is a girl? Since when was Austin a girl's name? Well, let me tell you this: I made Austin a girl's name so deal with it! My middle name, however means "equal in weight" and I really love that. Thanks, mom.
Anyways, that's enough for introductions. But there's one more itty-bitty thing about my twin sister and me. You know that thing that's like where twins have that weird connection thing? Almost like an empathy-link? Yea, Zendaya and I have that. Weird, huh, how we can practically know what the other's about to say. Like, whenever I'm in pain, she feels it even worse. Whenever she's in pain, I feel it worse. The super freaky part is that we can send each other distress calls. Anyway, that's all.
So, hi there. I'm Austin and I'm the odd one out in my family. Nice to meet you.
