That night I was staying up late doing paperwork. As the prince, I was responsible for organizing, approving, and counceling my father on everything that came in. I looked at the clock on my wall: One AM. Greeeeeeaat.
There was a knock on my door, and I jumped slightly. "Um, sir?" came Elska's voice from the other side of the door.
"Come in." I said straightening out some of my papers as I heard the door creek open.
"I brought you some hot chocolate," she said still in uniform and handing me a mug, "It's pretty late, Sir."
"Yes, it is. You shouldn't be working so hard." I replied taking it from her. One sip and I knew she had made it herself, Elska made the best hot chocolate. "Thank you, though."
"Your welcome," she said bowing, "And, Sir....." she added as she was about to leave the door, "It may be out of my place, but you really should go to bed soon."
I smiled at her, "Of course." I said, "Good night, Elska."
She smiled and her cheeks had turned a light pink, "Good night, sir."
Then she dissapeared into the hallway, leaving me to my thoughts.....and my paperwork. "Perhaps I should go to bed." I thought to myself looking around the room. I yawned and made my desision.
Quietly, I pulled off my jacket and boots and went to the clostet to change into some night clothes. Then I put out the lamps on my desk and around my room and crawled into my bed after finishing the drink Elska had brought me.
Then, rather quickly, I drifted off to sleep.
