The drive home was quiet but my little hums to the radio came out. I've always been able to sing but I just never did in front of people. Yeah, maybe a few of my friends have heard me and some family members but not many. I was the type of girl that I kept to myself. "I know you can sing, Shelby. Why are you being so shy?" Harry elbowed me. "Harry, it's been almost four years since we've been around each other. I'm going to be shy about my voice." I answered turning down my street. "I will hear you soon." he looked out the window. "Good luck." I mumbled pulling in my drive way.

We walked in my house and I threw my bag to the corner. "Shelby, no." my mom scolded at me. I groaned and went upstairs. I heard my mom and Harry talk and their voices got quieter the farther I went. After I got into my room, I turned on the AC because it was hotter than hell in there, Harry had walked in. "Shocker." I mumbled. "What's so shocking?" he sat on the end of my bed. "Shocking that she let you up in my room." I answered. "She's always let me in your room." he kinda had a little of confusion in his voice. "I know but we're, like, older." I emphasized the last word. His mouth formed an O shape after he finally understood what I was trying to say.

*Harry's POV*

Alright, I gotta talk to her. "So..." I trailed off. "So." she repeated. "Okay Shelby. I really did miss you. I'm sorry that I didn't keep to my word to you. I just didn't want to hear you say that you miss me because then I would have been torn-" she cut me off. "How do you think I felt when my best friend promised me that he wouldn't drop me and hadn't talked to me for four years?" her voice hurt. "Shelby, I thought about you everyday for those four years. I couldn't stop. You want to know why I thought about you everyday?" I have to tell her. Even if she does have a boyfriend.
