Chapter 3: Right and Wrong (EDITED)

"Well, as long as you're here, could you tell me if you made up your mind about the list," I inquired, already knowing the answer but hoping against hope he'd taken me off. Alas, he shook his head and smiled cockily.

"I haven't changed my mind." Huffing I walked over and hugged my friends, including Travis.

"Hey Hailey," he said, his greeting muffled as he nuzzled his head into my hair. I couldn't help but feel every detail of his firm body as I pressed my bare skin to his torso. Letting go I looked everyone up and down.

Travis was wearing a pair of pale blue trunks that looked exceptionally well on him. Aaron had on dark gray bottoms that were hanging dangerously low. Owen was wearing simple black trunks and Paul was wearing dark green ones. Maddy was sporting a blue, high waisted bandeau strap bikini that went well with her pale complexion. Nicky was dressed in a simple, white string bikini that didn't show a lot of stuff but let it be known there was definitely stuff there.

Everyone crowded around the table and I realized I forgot something. "The cups and napkins," I groaned, rubbing my fingers on my forehead in exasperation. "I'll be right back."

Hurriedly I ran to the elevator and quickly pressed the main floor. I waited and tapped my foot on the marble tiles as it moved down. Finally the doors binged open and I jogged to the kitchen. Going to the cupboard I stood on my tippy toes and opened the tallest door which held all the plastic utensils and extra napkins. I spotted them but they were wait too far up. How the hell did they even get there in the first place?

Huffing I reached up as far as I could and used my other hand to help boost me up. Damn my average height. My fingers barely brushed the second to tallest shelf. Grunting in annoyance I tried to jump to grab them but failed miserably. Somebody chuckled behind me and immediately I spun around, partially shocked at the silence being pierced.

"What do you want Aaron," I sighed, crossing my arms defensively as I stared at his tall form.

"I just wanted to know what was taking so long." He shrugged and I kept my posture the same. "Here, let me help." He closed the distance between us and my butt hit the counter as our chests came together. I put my arms to the side to make more room and use the counter as my anchor, but he just pressed even closer. I looked to the right to avoid staring awkwardly at him and ignored the way his skin felt against my own. He was just so damn attractive. It took a moment but he finally grabbed the napkins and his body moved against my own as he settled back down. "Here you go," he whispered, tossing the napkins on the granite and trapping me as he put his arms on the counter.

I stood still as he trapped my gaze with his own. His eyes were beautiful and intense all at once. If I truly wanted to I could stand in this position all day staring at them without getting bored.

The list, I reminded myself, snapping myself out of the trance as I snapped my gaze away from him.

"Are you gonna move," I asked, my voice threateningly quiet as I clenched my jaw. He looked slightly surprised but quickly masked his face. He didn't think I would be able to defy him.

"You know, how do we always find each other in this position?" He smirked lazily and I would have slapped him if he hadn't stepped back at that moment.

"I'm gonna get the cups and you're going to go back to the roof," I ordered, turning and grabbing the stack of plastic cups on one of the shelves along with the napkins on the counter.

"Since you just grabbed them I'll wait for you and we'll ride the elevator together," Aaron said and I didn't say anything as I shouldered past him.

"Whatever," I muttered as I continued on, not wanting to be near him. Quickly I pressed the button and waited, staring up at the dial that told me which floor the elevator was at. As the doors slid open I instinctively walked in and moved to the other side of the space than Aaron. He pressed the roof button and we remained silent for the entire ride.
