Three weeks later, they've long since found a place to reside.
It was a small, abandoned ranch, but they were safe from the elements and they had food and water.
"Ella."
Helena, seated at the kitchen table, looks up. George is standing in the doorway.
"Yes, George?"
George sighs. He approaches Ella and bends down to kiss her. Helena, startled, pulls away.
"What is it, George?"
"I have to leave."
