The Last Night

Lex's P.O.V

I had just got home in my parents penthouse in London, where I was born and I've lived all my life with my parents until they moved back to the U.S a few years ago since I was almost 21 and I was ok with it.But it does get kind of lonely around here which is why my friend Maddie from school lives with me . I got a phone call from my parents and I immediately answered.
" Hi honey! How are you doing up there in London?" My mother asked.
" Great why ? " I said.
" Oh good. It's just um, we've got something to tell you and we don't want you freak out because it's for the best . " My dad replied worriedly.
" I'm sure it's nothing, so what is it?" I asked hurriedly.
" We want you to move here in L.A with us. " My mother let out. And that was when they dropped the bomb on me.
" What the hell mom no!" I disagreed in anger.
" We know this might be hard to wrap your head around but we think it's for the best and you have many offers and opportunities here ! It'd be great for you to see a new type of world." My dad explained.
" My life is here ! My school, my friends ! Ugh! Why! " I yelled out in frustration.
" You won't be complaining for much longer , I know it! You can make new friends and if it's alright with Maddie she can even come along! You leave in a week, so be ready and we'll see you soon Alexandra we love you!" My parents said in unison.
" Love you too. " I spat and hung up.
I can't believe they would do this to me! And I only have 1 freaking week left! My anger was interrupted when I heard the front door open. I walked downstairs and seen Maddie walking to the kitchen.
" Hey madz." I waved.
" Hey Lex what's up?" She asked.
" Nothing... Just the um, the usual you know." I smiled nonchalantly.
"Cut the crap Lex I know your hiding something now what is it? " she asked, sitting on the counter.
" Well the thing is, my parents are making me move to L.A . " I breathed out hesitantly.
" WHAT! NO YOU CANT LEAVE ME HERE! " She exclaimed loudly.
" Well when do you leave?" She asked.
" In a week. But my parents said if you'd like then you can come. " I smiled, trying to change her mood.
" Oh ok, well then I guess it wouldn't be that bad." She said more calmly.
" So what do ya say? Wanna come move to L.A with me?" I asked.
" Hell yeah! " She yelled, hugging me!
" Sweet! But we gotta start packing. So get your shit prepared in a few days because the moving people will send all our stuff to L.A." I informed.
" That's cool. But when do we tell our other friends, and what about Jacob?"She thought out loud.
" What about Jacob? There's nothing going on between us anyways. " I said.( Jacob is played by Dylan O'Brien)
" Okayy, sure." Maddie laughed.
" Haha, funny.Anyways I'm gonna go start packing and stuff. " I said, waking upstairs.Maddie smiled and I closed my door. Starting from the back of my closet I took the majority of my clothes and put them in a pile. Half way through, my phone buzzed and it showed I got a text from Jacob☺️💕 " Just got some terrible news from Maddie, why didn't you tell me you were leaving? Kinda sucks." It said. I quickly replied saying " I just found out literally a few hours ago and I didn't know how to tell anyone yet, Sorry" I sent it and waited for a reply.Soon enough my phone flashed again and I got a text.
" It's ok, but we're all gonna miss you. So when's your farewell party?" He asked. To be honest I hadn't even thought of it.
"Well maybe the day before I leave? At the club?" I suggested.
" Yeah that sounds cool.See ya then Lex, :)" He sent.I would be lying if I said I didn't have some feelings for him but I never had the guts to. But I guess now it's too late.I thought to myself for a while before realizing that after taking many things out of my room that I had no boxes or bins or anything to pack my stuff in.I mentally slapped myself in the face and ran downstairs.
" Maddie I'm gonna run a few errands I'll be back in about a half-hour!" I yelled, she yelled back a simple " Kay be safe" and with that, I shut the door and got in my car. I drove to the store and practically ran inside and grabbed about 20 big blue square plastic bins and payed for them. I didn't know why I was in such a rush. Wen I got home, Maddie had ordered us some pizza and I sat down for a few slices.
" You told Jacob."I brought up.
" Yeah, I figured it was the only way he'd ever find out since I knew you probably wouldn't have told him ." She explained.
" You got me there. But then he said I should have a farewell party and all of a sudden bam its planned for the day before we leave.At the club downtown." I said.
" Sounds like it's gonna be kinda fun.Cant wait!"She said in excitement.
" And who knows maybe Jacob will finally admit his love for you!!" She laughed.
" Yeah right." I huffed.
" I'm exhausted.I think it's time for me to hit the hay! Night Lex" she said, walking up the stairs and making her way to her room.
Soon after putting my things in the bins, I grew tired and quickly fell asleep.
