I onced myself over in the mirror and puckered my lips. Perfect.
I grabbed my keys off my night stand and checked my phone. I sighed at the little reminder that showed up on the screen next to a little balloon emoticon.
Jadens Birthday
Today was the birthday of my boyfriend, Jaden. We had been together for about a year now, and I just didn't know how to feel about it. He was the hottest guy at school, he had every girl after him and he was president of the drama club. In every sense of the word, he was amazing. But lately he had... been distant. He seemed like he didn't care as much about me as he did at the start of it all.
But, you know. Maybe that's what love is supposed to feel like.
I ran down the stairs and grabbed my bag, feeling proud that my nails matched it so well. My parents weren't here, they both teach in the mornings.
When the time came, I walked out to my car and started the engine. I had to pick up my two best friends, May and Julie, who didn't have their licenses.
First I stopped at Julies, who's house was so big it could double as a homeless shelter. I honked and she ran out, holding a coffee and grinning. She plopped in the seat next to me and pulled down her mid-thigh skirt that was riding up a bit and looked perfect with her tank top.
"What's up, babe?" She asked me a took a gulp of coffee. She got a bit of lipstick on the rim of her cup.
"Just excited for Jordans birthday!" I responded with a smile. She gasped and nearly spilled her drink everywhere.
"That's right! That's today! You know... he might want an extra special present tonight... if you know what I mean..." She snickered with a sly smile and a wink. I elbowed her and she laughed maliciously.
We drove to Mays house, which was only 8 minutes away. I honked again and she walked out of her cute modest house. She was wearing leggings and a fuzzy sweater. The outfit differences between my two friends said a lot about this march, warm and cold, off and on.
"Oh my gosh Julie. What are you wearing?" May exclaimed as she sat in the back seat.
"I'm dressed like a model, and you're gonna have to deal." Julie sassed. We all laughed and I began the drive to the high school.
