"I've never met a woman that says exactly what she's thinking." -The Help

The only sound in the small coffee shop was the occasional page turning of a book. The occupants were all focused on their books and newspapers

The ringing of the bell that hung on the door caused a few to look up, but they quickly resumed their activities. The boy with caramel hair walked up to the counter.

"Hi" he greeted her with a smile. "I'd like to order some coffee."

The girl out down her book, The Help, and stared at him.

"I'm sure that could be arranged." She said dryly.

His smile only widened.

"What's your name?" He asked.

The girl tapped her name tag before giving him a pointed look that was accompanied by asking his order.

"I like it black." He said.

Her nose crinkled with disgust.

"That will be $4.24." She said.

He handed over a five and got his change. She went to the corner and began pouring his coffee. He waited.

"Here you go." She said and set the cup on the counter.

He gave her a warm smile that defrosted the chilly air and picked it up.

"It was nice meeting you, Kennedy."

She said nothing and resumed her reading.
