Chapter 1

I woke up with a start. I was sweating , panting, and doing everything a scared person does. I was having a dream that I was on Earth when it tumbled away and I was sent sprawling through space, drifting, drifting...then I woke up.

My mom called me downstairs to eat breakfast. Gloopy green limes and sizzling banana peels; just like every meal ever. The only thing that sets meals apart is the drink. Breakfast is goats milk, lunch is de-saturated orange juice, and dinner is flavorless carrot milk.

After I finished my bland meal of random fruits...I decided to walk around outside and see what today would be like. On Mezolya, the weather, environment, terrain, and even the colors are always changing. Today the weather was sunny, but there was a light rain falling down and seeping into the dark fuchsia ground, that same ground was covered in blossoming cherry blossom trees that had vines covered in the petals. The sky was a nice shade of aquamarine. The water was an alarming blood red color. I have never seen this color in the water, ground, and even in the plants! I RAN home, and I mean RAN! I ran right up my mellow yellow doorstep and ran right into my mom's open arms. She quickly pushed me away though after she realized what she did because affection was looked down upon in Mezolya, unless there was a death, marriage, birth, etc.

Anyway, after she pushed me away, she asked me what happened. I  told her about the blood red water...and she just looked at me. 

After what seemed like forever she stopped  staring at me and said "Lacy, sit down. I need to tell you something."
