Or not so boring. Rebecca mused thoughtfully, gazing down at the scene. There was a bit of rough movement and suddenly it became a lot easier to distinguish figures. Two girls were clutching each other near the fringe of it while four guys duked it out. Her eyes narrowed. No. Only three were, the fourth was trying to pry them away from each other. The familiar crew-cut and muscle mass tipped her off as to whom the fourth was.
Bruce.
Her lips pulled into a frown. Three on one were tough odds, even for a bouncer his size and caliber. A muscle jumped in her arm and she had to tense her legs to prevent herself from jumping up. There should’ve been more than just him down on that floor, but she was up here and Roku had kept Cody and Cyrus on in the cage most likely for the meeting. Her eyes leapt to her boss as one of the three landed a punch squarely on the man’s jaw. These weren’t drunken frat boys who had lost their equilibrium in a fit of rage. Those were well coordinated hits, meaning they had at least beginners experience in fighting and Bruce needed help or things would get risky. Roku’s sharp look telegraphed a firm ‘no’ at her and she silently snarled, whipping her head around to watch the scene again. Another fist came to contact and she winced at the rib shot. Her fists clenched painfully at her sides. This was escalating. She was needed down there. Bruce needed her. And yet she was forced to stay up here under the guise of being a waitress girl.
Attempting to calm herself, Rebecca breathed in deeply and relaxed her shoulders. This was Bruce, he didn’t need help with some punks roughing up the floor. A swing from said man that knocked one of the boys to the ground hard solidified her resolution to stay where she was and not leap down from the cage to help.
Besides her one of Roku’s VIP guests whistled. “You have some good Bouncers at your club.” He remarked, eyes avidly fixed on the scene.
Roku grinned lazily. “Only the best.”
Rebecca huffed out a snort causing a few eyes to stray back to her and she crossed her arms as she continued to watch, ignoring the noisy fucks. If she was going to say something she would’ve said it. No amount of silent eye-prodding was going to change that.
“Ahem,” Rebecca glanced back to find the Roxxy girl standing just behind the couch. “Would you like a refill, Becca?” the waitress asked politely.
A violent, full body twitch went through her and silver eyes flashed maliciously but before she could rip into the girl for calling her such a thing there was a loud bang that hit the air.
Gun.
Without even the slightest bit of hesitation she popped up from her seated position fast enough to startle most of the men.
“Rebecca!” Roku snapped, momentarily losing his cool as he saw what she was doing.
His call didn’t faze her and she sprung over the couch, using the back of it as a spring board for her right foot. In a smooth movement she dove her hand into her boot and grabbed the bundle of money he’d given her as she landed softly. Twisting around slightly, she threw it towards him. “Keep your fucking money.” She told him before racing onto the dance floor to bob and weave her way to the exit. When she reached it Cody and Cyrus were already heading down the stairs.
Cody was the first to see her .“Rebecca what are you doing, we thought you were--”
The deadly glint in her eye bade him to shut up.
“Out of the way.” She intoned, voice soft.
Cyrus hazarded a glance towards the VIP section. “But—”
Her calm visage eclipsed into a grotesque malicious mask for but a split second and both jolted back. “Move.” She growled. They both flattened themselves against the wall and she strode by at a pace that was more sedate but not in any way less aggressive. After winding her way down a ways she reached the portion of the stair way that turned into a walkway and was not in the tower. Not wanting to waste time walking the whole thing to get to the last small section of stairs that finally lead to ground level she grabbed hold of the railing and launched herself over it, scaring quite a few dancing girls as she landed with a thud in the middle of the floor. Her eyes locked on the group through the crowd, finding the blonde one who was waving around a gun easily enough. A quick visual scan at the surrounding people told her that most were oblivious to the danger in its entirety and if she were in a better mood she would’ve scoffed. It was good for Roku’s business but the lack of self-preservation really dropped her faith in humanity a few notches.
All the same. She had a job to do.
