"Alice!"
No answer.
"ALICE!"
No answer.
"Oh dear ,I wonder, why isn't that girl answering? Hey, Alice!"
Still has no answer.
Mrs. Murchinson put up her eyeglasses and continued on what she's doing; then suddenly she had an idea going upstairs to check her nephew. She always care for Alice through her entire life; she's her angel, and whatever happens to Alice she won't forgive herself. Alice's parents died in a plane crash and Mrs. Murchinson, sister of Alice's Father, swore that she'll take good care of Alice. Alice was three at that time and Mrs. Murchinson did not tell her about the incident. Instead, she told her that her parents are working abroad; which she made Alice believe. She doesn't want her nephew to feel sad-in fact- it was Alice's birthday when her parents died.
"What are you getting busy of-"
She did not finish, for by this time she was hearing the music Alice's playing, and she thought for sure that Alice is playing the piano. The soft, graceful voice never failed to amuse her Aunt. Alice is now 14 years old. Too young to fall- in love and she's strong but fragile.
"My nephew still know that song huh. The song her father used to play for her when she's two."
Alice noticed her Aunt watching her from behind. She paused for awhile and turned to where Mrs.Murchinson's standing.
"What're ya doin' here Aunt?"
Alice's eyebrows narrowed.
"Didn't remembered asking you to go upstairs. You can go now. Please"
Alice hates her Aunt. Well, maybe because she's overprotective and strict towards her. Once, a guy confessed to her and asked to court her; but she already knew that her Aunt doesn't like seeing her being close to a guy. Even in school, a lot of guys admired her intelligence, beauty and kindness. They were so sincere to her, though she can't accept suitors knowing her Aunt will never allow her to engage in any relationship.
But it doesn't mean Alice has no feelings at all. She met a guy with hazel eyes. She's comfortable talking to him in school and she's happy being with him during breaks. Maybe, she likes him. The guy's name is, Geoffrey. He lives nearby Alice's house and they secretly meet up at the playground during weekends. They play there, chitchat, laugh, and enjoying the company with each other. Geoffrey has a good sense of humor and that's what Alice likes about him.
"It's time to go to the playground."
Alice, jumped off from her window pane and slowly walks into the backyard and went away heading to the playground. She's excited to meet Geoffrey.
"How do I look? Am I pretty this time? Oh my g."
She's nervous, and she's trying to look relaxed but she's having feeling that something--bad will happen.
Geoffrey is now walking towards her. Looking good wearing a slate blue patterned shirt and a cream colored short.
He seemed disturbed. He's planning to ask Alice a question.
"Hey, Alice . I-I just want to clear things up. Want to ask you something, Aly."
"Hmmm? What's it?"
"Do you like me?"
Alice's eyes went big. She didn't expect to hear those words. 'Do I like him?' She asked herself.
"G-Geoffrey I-I . I-I -----"
"If not Alice, I think I'm going crazy if not. Because I like you Alice. A lot."
Alice was dumbfounded.
