Religious Taoism

Religious taoism was founded 600 years after the death of lao tsu, the yellow emperor wanted to restore the chinese cult, so he accepted religious taoism and mixed all the chinese beliefs such as shamanish, witchcraft, divination, ancestor worship,traditional deities, also to people worship him and he also added chinese traditional religion and confucianism.

Religious taoist beliefs in the inmortality as an eternal life concept, while it also worship traditional heroes, deities, masters and inmortals,religious taoism worship lao tsu as an inmortal, all of this is rejected by philosophical taoism which is the original taoism.

Taoism beliefs also in the qi or body energy that can be used to control our body and health.

Tao te ching never mention anything about God or religion because is a philosophy, religious taoism is not based on tao te ching but on traditional religion.
