A New Beginning (A Grey's Anatomy FanFic)

When I started to open my eyes, I felt bright light pierce my eyes. My vision was blurry, but I was starting to make out images. I started seeing sad grey walls and a bunch of equiptment. I looked down and I noticed I was in a hospital bed. I also had an iv in my arm. Suddenly, I became very alert and many thoughts flooded into my head. Why am I here? Where's Derek? Where is Christina?

Suddenly, a nurse in bright pink scrubs that burst in the room broke my train of thoughts.

"What's happening?" I asked anxiously.
She had a surprised expression, and called out of the door "hey! She's awake!"
She immediately started checking the machines.
"Exuse me, why am I here? Did you hear me?"
"Oh sweety, you got in a car accident, but you are gonna be ok. You're husband was with you, and he is in surgery. But don't you worry, it's going very well."
i sat there for a minute in disbelief. I didn't remember any of what had happened. So many thoughts were flooding my head.

"How long have I been like this?"
"About a day," She said with a concerned expression on her face.
She started reading off my chart, but I was thinking more about Derek. What if something goes wrong in surgery?
What where his injuries? And so many other questions.

"Ok honey, page me when you need more morphine. You are allowed to have visitors soon." She gave me a big smile and gently shut the door. I felt terrifed. I've had much worse things happen in my life, but the chance of loosing Derek made a knot in my stomach. I felt like I was going to heave. Hot tears fell down my face, and I was left to wonder so many things.
