Good Enough

The New Boy: Part 1

Nadiah's POV:

It's a normal Monday morning, I wake up and head downstairs for breakfast. "Good morning darling!" My mum said while I was making my way to the kitchen, "Hey mum!" I say back. "What would you like for breakfast sweetheart?" she asked while packing her bag for work, "Hmm, do we still have the left over pizza from last night?" I reply, "Yes we do, it's in the oven." she says. I walk over to the oven and grab the left over Margarita pizza. I make my way to the fridge and grab a strawberry Big M, then I make my way to the dining table. As I sit on the chair, I can feel my phone vibrate in my pocket *BIZzZzZZzzz*. I get my phone out to see that Leah had tried to call me, I call back and within two rings she answers. "NADIAH NADIAH GUESS WHAT JUST HAPPENED?" "Channing Tatum got a divorce?" "EVEN BETTER, CHRIS ASKED ME OUT!!" she says in delight. "AHHHH! WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?" I ask, "I'll tell you about it at school, I gotta go. Cya there Nad!" Leah says in a rush, "Bye Le---" "NADIAH HURRY IT'S EIGHT  WE GOTTA GO!" My mum yells, "HOLD UP MUM" I yell back while jumping on my chair sprinting upstairs to my bedroom. I shove my clothes on and grab my bag. I make my way back downstairs into the garage. I can see my mum already in the car, I walk to the boot and put my bag in and then make my way to the front seat.

Jakob's POV:

Today is my first day at North Shore Collage, I don't know how to feel. I know Ethan and Chris are at that school and they told me great things about it, but what if they don't match up with my expectations? I kept on tossing and turning in my sleep last night and I'm not in the mood to get up. I hear my alarm but I just keep clicking the snooze button. *Knock Knock* "What do you want?" I say as I hear the door knocking, "Are you nearly ready? It's quarter to eight, I don't want to be late on the first day!" Mikalia said, "I'll get out soon, just hold on." How can she be so confident on the first day? I don't understand it! I manage to get myself out of bed and open my blinds, I go to the wardrobe and get out my uniform. I put my grey school shorts on and I take off my jumper and put on my blue collar top. "SHIT! DID I REALLY JUST PULL OFF MY BUTTON?" I say to myself. First day of school and my top button is missing, why is this happening to me? I grab my bag and make my way to the car, I see Mikalia in the car already waiting for me with mum. I walk over to the boot and place my bag directly beside Mikalia's. I close the boot and make my way over to the back seat. My mum turns her head and says to me "What did you do to your school top Jakob? We just got that yesterday and the button has already fallen off!" "It wasn't my fault mum." I reply back.
