Planet Wonder

Background

       Earth has one moon. It has one sun but billions of different species. One of the last species to live on Earth before the moon crashed into it was humans. The moon had been slowly getting closer and closer to Earth but no one noticed, until it was too late. They had found out a month before the moon hit. Famous and important people were evacuated first. Then, the rich. Eventually they had gotten all the middle class. There wasn't enough time to evacuate all of the lower class. Only children were taken from that class. All the prisoners were left behind. 

   They headed to Mars where they built a dome to protect them from the harsh climates. Then the volcano erupted and they could only take the middle and high classes. All the poor, stranded kids were left behind. Venus was our only hope.

  When the people arrived at the dome, they were sad, hungry, thirsty, and dying. Eventually it went back to normal, well as normal as it could be. We stayed there for a while. We knew when the sun was getting bigger that it was dying and would soon kill us all. Time was different on Venus. Faster. We didn't know how but it just was. We had to travel to a new solar system. It would take eighteen years, but we would get to that new solar system. The new planet. We stocked up and put everyone on the ships all we knew was that this planet had oxygen. The one good thing. 

  I have been on a ship my whole life. I'm eighteen and have never been on land before. I've always wondered how the human race can have such bad luck. I have learned all of this knowledge from the teachers and they have learned this from The Socials. We don't know who The Socials are. They live among us and watch us. I always wonder how they got chosen. They have to be perfect. They only lie to keep themselves hidden among us. Sometimes, I get the feeling that they are lying about how the planets were destroyed, but I know it's crazy. 

  

  What really happened to the planets and why can't any of the grown ups remember Earth? That is what I'm going to find out.
