Mason's POV

I woke up from my uncomfortable "sleeping in chair"Pose by the annoying buzzing sound coming from my sweater pocket.

Devil ~
Time for Alex's walk mason
Mason ~
Do you have to remind me every single day?
Devil ~
Yes now just take him for his walk.

I internally groan as I put my phone in my pocket and walk over to my little brothers hospital bed.

" Bro get up. Time for you daily walk" I say mimicking my step-fathers voice silently laughing to myself.

"Ugh. I love my dad and all but why this is so stupid. Taking daily walks?!"

I hear a faint, soft giggle from the other side of the sheet of the hospital room because my brother shares a room with a girl. I've always wondered who she is. My brother says she is my age. She has been here all week just like my brother. He says she just got diagnosed with cancer the day Alex was admitted.

As we are walking around the court yard something or perhaps I should say someone, catches my eyes. So beautiful . It feels like the whole world is going in slow motion.

We are taking a break because alex got tired.

I'm still looking at her. I know I sound like a creep.

"Dude who are you looki-
Oh dude that's Mary, 16, and is going to our school.

Mary.such a beautiful name.

" how do you know all of this?"

"Dude I have shared a hospital room with her for like the past week.
I know how come you never knew is because the only person you care about is your whores."

I know I hump and dump but the way he said it, damn.

I'm not the type of having a relationship but she is just beautiful. It's complicated...

"I need her in my arms."
