(Harry’s POV)

“Harry, over here. Harry!” Ron called. They’ve missed the sorting already. Harry and Hermione, joined their friends at Gryffindor’s table. They sat down on either side of Ron. Harry still pissed about Malfoy and Hermione distracted by the commotion happening at the nearby table.

“What happened? Why is Hufflepuff in a tizzy?” asked Hermione.

“There’s a new kid in our year! A transfer! Can you believe it?” Ron excitedly exclaimed.

“I don’t know what the fuss is all about – “

“Well, you haven’t seen her yet,” Ron interrupted. “If you have, you wouldn’t even be asking that,”

Harry wanted to ask Ron about the transfer, but at that exact moment, the headmaster stood up his podium to speak.

Dumbledore, the serene old man with an impressively long silver hair and beard was the headmaster of the school. As he spoke with great energy, his half-moon spectacles twinkling, he gave the impression of security and comfort. And for the first time since Harry encountered the dementors, he felt safe.

“Let the feast begin,”  Dumbledore finished.

Everyone dug in. It was a scrumptious feast, the hall echoed with talk and laughter all throughout the meal. Harry, Ron and Hermione, however was all too eager to finish so they could congratulate Hagrid for his new post as the Care of Magical Creatures teacher. They knew how much this means for him.

After that, Harry along with his friends joined the Gryffindors streaming up the marble case to the hidden entrance to Gryffindor tower. A large portrait of a very fat lady stood before them. “Password?”

Percy Wealey, the new headboy and one of Ron’s older brother shouted from behind the crowd. “The new password’s ‘Fortuna Major’!”

The climbed the spiral staircase and reached their familiar, circular dormitory with it’s five four-poster beds and Harry felt that he was home at last.

(The Next Day)

They entered the Great Hall for breakfast.

The Hufflepuff table was once again brimming with energy. All the guys seem to crowd over a certain girl.

Harry was curious so he kept his gaze towards Hufflepuff's table, not bothering to listen to Hermione and Ron talk about Malfoy or their upcoming new class schedules.

He trained his green eyes directly at the girl only to be met with such tantalizing electric blue eyes that shyly looked away.

It felt like the world stopped for one moment - that moment when his eyes connected with the girl’s eyes and that was it, Harry was whipped.

He wanted to go over her table and shoo the other guys’ advances.

He wanted her for himself. He just couldn’t explain it. Harry knew that he was too young for such intense feelings but he just couldn’t help it. He fell inlove with those mesmerizing eyes.

His train of thought, however was interrupted by a piece of paper being passed around by Ron’s twin brothers, Fred and George.

“New third-year course schedules,” said George.

“Why do you have these with you?” Hermione asked the twins suspiciously.

They both grinned. “We were checking them out,”

“For what?” Ron asked.

“So we’d know her schedule. She’s a third year too,”

“Who?” asked Harry curiously.

“I called dibs first,” Fred and George both said at the same time. The twins glared at each other.

“What’s the matter?” Harry asked.

“I’m in love with her,” Fred and George both said.

“With the third year transfer?” Harry asked.

“Yes,” This time it was Ron, Fred and George who answered.

Somehow, this news didn’t sink well with him. Harry was bristling. He wanted to sock the twin’s nose right that moment. It took all of his patience to not do something drastic.
