"Oh come on (y/n), what's the worst that could happen? I told you! You have even said before it would be a great place to go read! No one ever goes out there!"
Shit, why does she always use my own words against me. I run a hand through my hair, and sit down my copy of Pride and Prejudice.
"I said no Ash, and I mean it. Just because no one ever goes out there doesn't mean the house is safe to be in. Its falling apart. What if there is an animal in there? Then what would I do!"
I pull at the sleeves of my jacket. I am not going to let her talk me into staying in the old house for tonight. I don't care how badly she wants to sneak in her boyfriend, I only agreed to stay here as a cover so she could sneak out. I did not sign up to stay in a old creepy house in the woods so she can get laid!
"There's nothing out there! And its perfectly safe, I checked it out yesterday just to be sure..," she tries to say dismissivly.
"You don't know that!" I exclaim.
"I'm not risking my life just so you can get some. Why can't you go to him like you told me you wanted to?!" I cross my arms and shift uncomfortably in my spot on the edge of Ashleys bed. I hate arguing; I always cave in and I can never hold my own.
She smirks.
"Because his parents are hosting a thing and told him to stay out until its done. Its just for a couple hours, I'll text you when he leaves. I promise, please please pleasseeeee (y/n)!"
I cannot believe I'm even considering this.
"You owe me big time."
Tackling me in a hug, she hurridly rambles out,
"Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'll make it up to you I swear! There's a bed in a room upstairs, I cleaned it up, new sheets and pillows, spare blanket in there with it. You'll be fine I promise, only a couple hours and I'll text you when you can come back. You should get service in the window of that room. Thank you bestie!"
Then out the back door she shoves me. I shake my head. The things I do for her. I start walking, following the path and it doesn't take me long before I reach the old house. The dark clouds over head and light thunder tell me exactly what I hoped wouldn't happen: a storm. I hurry inside and up the stairs. It doesn't take me long before I find the room. I put my book on a table by the bed and place my phone in the window.
"Shit!" Barely a bar, and it's going in and out. I'm going to kill Ash.
I walk over to the bed, and check under it before I move through the rest of the house. The house isn't as dirty as it should be, even with Ash 'cleaning' it as she claimed she did. How odd, it's almost like someone's been in and out of it.
With no signs of even a door mouse, I return to the bedroom and fall back onto the bed.
A small down pour has began outside. I sit up and take off my jacket and kick of my shoes leaving me in a flannel and jeans. I lay back and close my eyes, listening to the rain, feeling sleep set in, I let it pull me under.
......
*SLAM*
I jolt up right. What the hell was that?! The rain has gotton worse. What time is it? Slowly crossing the room, I hear a slight shuffel downstairs. I check my phone, 9:48 P.M. and no service. Peachy.
"A couple hours my ass, its been five," I mutter under my breath.
I hear the creaking of heavy footsteps walking up the stairs and towards my room. I freeze in place. I have no idea what to do. That can't be Ashley, she's much too small to make THAT loud a noise.
The door slams open. *gasp*. A man starts to step in the room, then visibly tenses slightly noticing my presense. We stand there staring at each other for a moment, and I take him in.
