I never thought I would end up here, in a court room facing a crime that I didn't even commit. Jacquees ended up dead a couple of months ago and of course all fingers were pointed at me, Jasmyn hated my guts and Dani accused me of being just like my cousin. That hurt my heart, I was nothing like Sean, I only killed someone if I had a reason and Jacquees definitely wasn't on my list. I watched as Eryn and Dani sat in the crowd, Dani was staring me down and Eryn was crying with June in her arms. I was beginning to tear up but I had to suck it up, I would kill myself before I ever shed a tear in front of my son.
"Mr. Alsina, I see that you and the victim attended the same college, correct?"
"Yes M'am"

I remember the day I went to college like it was yesterday,my mom had a smirk on her face while my brother cried, yeah it seemed pretty backwards but that's just how it was when you were dealing with a grown teenager like me for 18 years straight.I just knew that my mom felt joy in heart, she was excited at the fact that I would be able to experience what a "real" black man experiences every day.
"I always told you not to grow up so fast" She said "But you'll learn" I remember rolling my eyes and grabbing my box of stuff from her setting it on my bed as she nagged on "Being on my own is great" I smiled making her angry, I knew she hated that response, she didn't want me to be excited to leave her but she had no choice.
"Give me my grand baby" My mom said rolling her eyes at me
Eryn laughed and handed June to my mother, he was born just a couple of months ago and he was already getting big, he was such a hand full but he was my pride and joy.
"Where is Dani, just because it's her birthday it doesn't give her an excuse to not help us move in"
"Oh shut it!" Dani says walking in carrying a duffle bag. " Uh I need a lil help Rah!" She says tossing it in the corner.
In walks Rakim sweating, and carrying some boxes. "Baby I know it's your birthday but damn! Help a nigga out or sum! "
Dani kisses his cheek. " Y'all some babies!" She hugs my mom and pecks June's chubby cheeks. " Hi my little Godmonster!"
He smiles and grabs for her earrings. "Ah crap!" My mom grabs his hand and rocks him back and forth.
" Well of course I'll watch June when you need me to,but don't get too comfy! But other than that, I'm not helping yall with no bills! August I'm glad yo shit paid for thanks to your scholarship. But you need to work as hard as you can!" My mom says to Eryn who nods.
I roll my eyes. " Okay ma. Thanks for taking him for the afternoon. " I say kissing her cheek.
"Bye Mommy's Man" Eryn says kissing June's cheek, she was way too attached to him
"Stay out of trouble nigga!" My brother says pointing at me. I hug my brother and mom,then they leave.
My mom lives 2 hours away, but she was gonna be at my Aunt's house which was 30 minutes away.
"Call me when you ready for him!" I hand her the diaper bag and things he will need.
"Bye ma!" Eryn ,Dani, and I say in unison.
She laughs. "Bye bad ass kids!"
She leaves and we turn to Dani.
" HAPPY BIRTHDAY BITCH! " Eryn says jumping on her. She smiles and hugs us.
" So what's happening tonight? " She says excitedly.
" Uhhh.. I don't know,We need to unpack and I don't know if August's mom gone like the fact we partying already. " Eryn says
Dani pouts. " Ughhhh guys I'm freaking 19!" She says crossing her arms
" I like older women!" Rakim says pulling her by her waist.
" Ugh go sit the fuck down!" Jasmyn says glaring at them
"Aww someone sad their bae ain't here yet?" Dani says teasing her
Jasmyn gives her the finger. " Bite me bitch!" We all laugh.
" Aye D maybe tomorrow. We get the first 2 days off to get settled in so help us today and we gotchu tomorrow! "
She rolls her eyes. " What about June?"
I glance at Eryn. "I'll ask my aunt."
"Fine! But you're taking me out tonight!" She says to Rakim.
He winks. " A$ap Rocky got you ma!"
"Wow nigga! Every since you performed at the graduation party you been gettin a lil famous! " I say laughing.
He nods. " Yeah man. I wanna be a rapper!"
Dani laughs. He glares at her.
"Sorry." She says smiling. At the graduation Rakim performed a song he made, and it went viral. He was getting sorta famous. I don't know if Dani really supports his dream though.
There was a faint knock on the door and I went to go open it. There stood Jacquees with a box in his hands, I rolled my eyes and let him in.
"Wassup Eryn" He smirked at her
"Hello Rodriguez"
He laughed "Still holding that grudge, I see"
"Stop talking to me and go give the box to your sister so you can get the hell out of my house"
"You know you can't stay mad at me forever"
"Didn't she say stop talking to her" I yelled "Get the fuck on nigga"
"Ight" He put his hand up in surrender and headed to Jasmyn's room.
"I don't want that nigga around here" I whispered to Eryn as I started to help her unpack the dishes
"You? Me neither, that was one of my worst mistakes"
"Who was your best?" I asked curious
"You" She smirked
"Hurtful" I said holding my heart
"Hey, you asked"
"Didn't think you would hurt my feelings"
Present Day
"So you and Mr. Broadnax had already had beef around that point,correct?" The prosecutor questioned me
"I wouldn't call it beef, he just-"
"Your Honor please instruct the defendant to answer these questions with yes or no"
"Mr. Alsina" The judge called out to me
I sighed "Yes"
"No further questions your honor"
"You may be seated Mr. Alsina"
As I take my seat I look over at Eryn, she's still crying, I feel bad for putting her in this situation.
"Your Honor, I now call Danielle Knight to the stand"
