I can't see.
That was my first thought. My second was, Where am I?
Since I couldn't see, I used my other senses to try and gain my bearings.
I was being led somewhere, my hands bound by what felt like a lead. The ground was a fleshy substance, then something squishy that seemed to suck at my feet. It felt like Netherrack and Soul Sand. The air tasted of smoke and sulfur and death. It stung my eyes and throat.
The Nether.
The fog in my eyes cleared and I could see again. Sure enough, I was in the Nether--in all its hideous glory. However, no mobs were attacking. In fact, they seemed to be... bowing.
I looked to the front of the line of other people, who were still in a drugged daze. There was a player--no, not a player; there was no name tag floating above his head. He had the Steve skin, at least from the back. He seemed to be the one the mobs were bowing to...
I put two and two together.
His skin looked like Steve from the back.
He had no nametag.
Monsters bowed down before him.
No.
I thought it as loud as I could, as if that would make it go away.
No. It's impossible.
Nevertheless, there he was.
HEROBRINE.
He whipped around and glared at me. His gaze looked like twin rectangular suns, and I looked away. He walked toward me.
My heart pounded in my chest like a drum.
We came face to face. My eyes wandered their way back to his, and I couldn't look away. He looked me up and down, like he was analyzing me.
Impressive.
I heard it in my mind, but it wasn't my thought. It somehow had a different voice. My eyes widened and I took a step back.
His face twisted into an amused smirk. That's right, Max. I'm telepathic.
How do you know my name?
He began circling me. I know more about you than you know about yourself.
I was terrified. What do you want?
You, Max. I want you.
He raised his and toward me, and placed two blocky fingers against my forehead. He furrowed his brow, and his eyes stared straight into my soul. I began to feel light-headed. I fought to stay conscious, but it was too strong, and I blacked out.
