Chapter 1

Katherine, or as her few friends called her Kate, was living a normal and boring live. She played by all rules and was often used by her teachers as a role model to explain how the students should behave. Needless to say, that didn't make her very popular. She was perceived by everyone who didn't know her as being the nerdy, shy girl. However, she wasn't like that at all. The few people who made an effort to get to know her recognise her as being the goofy one, with an huge passion for sports and music. She was the best student of the school, but her friends sure as hell wouldn't describe her as a book worm. More like the driven one.

She kept on her mind, during all the school time, a quote her father told her a numerous amount of times, since she was just a little girl: "Once you get out of the university you wanted to study in, with the degree you wanted to take and you get the job you want, then you'll have time - your whole life - to party and date." She really hoped that her father words would turn up to be true. Her love life was inexistent and she was starting to lose hope that it will ever get better, after all she was 17 and she was endind high school. Her friends were all in and out of relationships, but no boy ever made even an attemp to date her. She wasn't sure if it was the way she looked or the actions she had. She had long light-brown hair and slighty darker colored eyes. She was sure rejection from the boys until now didn't came because of her personality as no boy ever got to know her passions and interests. She just blend into the crowd - though she didn't like them. She was more of a small group person.

She was just sitting at her usual lunch table with her best friend Sophie, rethinking all her life while Sophie talked endlessly about something.

 - Kate! Kate! Earth is calling Kate! What were you thinking about? - her best friend Sophie called her back to reality, making her leave her dream fantasy.

- What? - Kate asked as she was totally distracted from the conversation Sophie was having with her about some new series.

- I just asked you why are you smiling when you're not even listening to what I was saying. Can I know what made you happy? Or are you gonna let me wonder? I bet it was Chris... Were you thinking about him? He is cute as hell isn't he?

- Unless you're talking about Chris Evans or Chris Hemsworth I don't know who... - As she goes to finish her line, Sophie makes her a signal to the boy approaching the table. He was too cute to talk to Kate (as she tough) so she just went back to her mind while the boy talked.

- Kate! Are you even listening? - Sophie asked while kicking Kate under the table so Chris wasn't able to see.

- Humm... I'm sorry. Were you talking to me? - Kate asked in shock. Why would Chris, who could have any girl he wanted, be talking to her, she thought.

- Yeah. I was asking if you would like to come to my party on Saturday.
