Silver walked into your little playful conversation, and Jim looked back at his work. Morph turned back into his normal, pink blob form, and you continued wiping the rails.

"It seems ye kids have been workin' too hard. All of us could slip because of the amount of moppin' ye've been doin'." Silver laughed, throwing left over food into space.

Jim looked up from the ground and paused, sighing, "Look, about what you did..." his voice faltered but he managed a small, grateful smile. "Thanks."

Silver smiled, too, but didnt't show much of it. "Didn't yer pap ever teach ye to fight?" You held your breath. You never thought about Jim's father, and this sparked your curiosity. You looked towards him, only to find him glaring at the ground while mopping.

"Yer pap ain't the teaching type, eh?"

"Actually he's more like a go away and never comes back sort." He answered monotonely, and stopped mopping, looking out into the nothingness of the Etherium. Your chest came in a knot at his words. You felt pity for Jim, and you wanted to comfort him. You walked over to his side and placed a hand on his shoulder, giving him an encouraging small smile. He smiled back, and looked back down.

"Ah," Silver began, walking towards you. "Sorry, lad,"

"Never knew why he never came back. He just... left us." Jim said quietly, making the knot in your chest feel much worse.

There was a moment of silence, then it was Silver lit a light bulb above his head. He nudged yours Jim's shoulder with his huge hands. "Since ye two don't seem like yer goin' ter survive a gang of pirates, wether ye like it or not, I'm going to put a few skills into those lit'tle bodies of yers!"

"What?!" You gasped.

"Now ye better do whatever I tell ye. Ye can't eat, sleep, or scratch yer bum without me sayin' so!" He declared.

"We're not doing this." Jim shook his head.

"Oh you will, Jimbo." Silver said. "And how do you know that?" You asked.

"Because I said so,"

[I suggest playing the song "I'm Still Here" by GooGoo Dolls while reading this part 😊]

Silver woke the both of you early in the morning to help him with breakfast duty. Well, he had you do the cleaning first, while Jim volunteered to do the harder jobs (like scrubbing off sticky objects from underneath tables) even though you didn't need help- Which, you admit, was sweet of him.

Cooking wasn't very easy when you only have two hands- Silver was half lucky to actually be a cyborg cook. You had a few burns, but something rang in the back of your head that told you, you were used to this. Yeah, you've had at least six hours working in the Benbow Inn, but this was a little more advanced than Bug Cookies, and bowls with wriggly worms. Even Jim was a bit surprised.

One time, Jim accidentally poured flour into a bowl, dipped his finger in it and smudged it on your cheek. You doubled it as a revenge, dipping one hand into the bowl and smudging his face ("Well, at least it covers your scar," you said.) It ended up as a short flour fight, and would've been more epic if it weren't for Silver's entrance.

The afternoon light shone brightly on the Etherium, and Silver was teaching both of you how to tie knots, knowing it would be pretty useful if you're going to stay for long. Silver had just finished tying a knot, and once he looked back, it was only you struggling to get the knot right. You both turned, and was equally surprised to see that Jim casually walked on the railings. His knot came out perfectly, and you couldn't help but feel a bit jealous.

That night, a ton of dishes were pending to be washed, and Silver took that to his advantage and made you and Jim do the work. Every minute you both thought would be the end of the job, Silver comes in and adds another pile. You ended up asleep on Jim's lap with a colander on your head, and Jim was leaning on one of the cauldrons with a brush in his hand. Silver walked up to this and couldn't help but smile sincerely- All the dishes were arranged, clean and shiny, and you two were in the middle of it all. Without hesitation, he walked up to you and Jim and covered you both with his huge jacket.

The next day came, and it wasn't very bad. You may not have been good with tying knots, but you beat Jim on sword fights and wrestling. It was the scrawny brunette's turn to be jealous. Silver then arrived and brought them to where the extra life boats were, and taught them how to lower, raise, and release a boat. You were in a trance when you stared out into the Etherium below while lowering a lifeboat, getting yet another familiar feeling about the whole thing. Jim had to snap you out of it by just one hand on your shoulder, making you blush.

Silver promised you and Jim that they wiuld ride one of the seedy lifeboats that evening, and you were pretty excited. You and Jim helped Silver lower one boat down, and things started getting pretty odd. You started getting flashbacks. You gazed at the Etherium, and it started;

"Mommy, where are they taking me?!"
--
"No! Do not hurt him, he's my friend!"
"(N/N), STAY OUT OF THIS!"

You got on the boat and cherished the smell of freedom, and there another one started;

"I'll do anything, just don't hurt (Y/N) and her family."
"Aight, Bones. The little girl will stay in my ship, and you stay away from the globe-"
"No-"
"Ah-ah-ah, you said anything."

Your hands suddenly began to move on their own, and Silver was surprised to see you control the throttles. Jim started pushing buttons, and off you went to a thrilling ride of a lifetime. The adrenaline pushed through your veins and your heart was beating loud at the familiar feeling the surrounding air gave you. Another one of the flashbacks appeared;

"But captain, this knot won't freaking... knot!"
"Oh, ye'll get it right... miserable little imp."
--
"No, don't do it, please!"
"Nathan, you did this. This girl will forget everything because of you."
"You and yer bloody twisted mind! The map doesn't belong to you- It belongs to the-"
"Silence! Didn't ye hear what I had said, old friend? If you don't stay away from me, this girl dies, so will her family, and so... will... you."

An ear-piercing scream of a girl echoed through your head, and slowly it became a scream coming from your mouth at present. You were screaming in pure joy and excitement, zooming through watery forms in the Etherium with Jim helping you with steering. Silver was very pleased with himself, and he admitted deep down that he had a blast.

[Okay so I wrote this while listening to the song, and it stopped exactly here. Whew! Talk about perfect timing, or maybe it's just me idk.]

The trio eventually grew tired and decided to stop the ride, making their way to the R.S. Legacy. The excitement of the ride still lingered in their minds, and they didn't stoo smiling at the thought.

"I'll be honest with ye two," Silver began as he tied a knot on the anchors of the lifeboat. Jim helped you with yours, and you blushed as you thanked him. "If I had learned to push te right buttons and maneuver tricks like ye two, everyone would be bowin' in the streets as I walk by.."

You laughed, sitting down, "I barely even know where I live, and I'm trying to figure out how I knew that."

"You were amazing back there," Jim commented. You made a playful bow in your sitting position. They all laughed.

"No one would care if a boy did that in Montressor," Jim said "but I'm gonna change all that." He laid dow beside you, with his hands behind his head. You smiled at him.

"Oh, and how do ye know that?" Silver asked.

"I'm going to change how they think of me." Jim said, before he eventually drifted off to sleep.

"I'm going to change how they think of me," You repeated with a frown.
