-Natalie's POV-
At 17, my life was a drag. I had no friends, no life, and everyone at my school hated me. They all saw me as Natalie Medley, that girl who has famous parents. I wasn't known for me, I was known for who my parents were. Not even once did someone try to take the time out of their day to try to get to know me as Natalie, as opposed to just a Medley.
Maybe they expected me to be horrible, to be stuck up. To stare down my nose at them. Maybe they just needed someone to pick on, and I was just there. I was an easy target and they had easy ammunition.
The very worst of it came from a girl called Brittany Hightower. She was popular, pretty, a cheerleader and had a gorgeous boyfriend. I never knew what she had against me, and that hurt me almost as much as the things she said. She controlled the school effectively, she controlled peoples opinions, who people were to be friendly with and most importantly who they hated. And I was unfortunately, part of the latter.
At that moment, I couldn't wait to leave. I couldn't wait to go to University and get a degree and run far away from the city that I had loathed so much from such a young age. Bridgeport.
But of course, life was never going to be that simple. Which was just my luck.
