"NO, YOU LEAVE!" Your mother screamed at her husband loudly. You covered your ears with your hands, the constant shouting was starting to scare you slightly. After half an hour of it, you heard the door slam and an angry shout sounding like the words 'BYE' and 'GOOD RIDDANCE'. Sneakily, you crept to the top of the steep and narrow stairs to see your mother sitting at the table with a bottle of whisky in hand and tears running down her rosy cheeks.
"M-mum?!" You said in a low, shaky voice. Her face turned towards you and she opened her arms as if to hug thin air. With a slightly stupid smile lighting up your face you ran into your mum's welcoming arms.
"Listen sweetpea, we need to talk," she whispered into your ear.
"What is it?" You replied worriedly. She pulled away from the hug and looked solemnly into your eyes.
"I'm sending you away for the summer, me and your father aren't getting along and a girl like you should be out in the wild outdoors,"
"Wha- where am I going?" You questioned sadly.
"To live with a friend in a shack in the woods, it's just on the edge of the town of Gravity Falls,
Oregon."
"Oh," was all you could say and you reached up to wipe a tear from your eye.

The next morning you were stood at the bus-stop, bags packed, wildly waving at your mother. The bus pulled to a stop and you clambered in.
"BYE!" You screamed at your mother as the bus drove off.

After a tiring three hour drive you were finally dropped off at the edge of a small town. Looking around you realised that you had no idea where you were going. So you began walking towards the forest where you assumed it was. Dark trees towered above you. There was also a constant feeling of being watched. SNAP! A branch snapped a little way off and you gripped your bags tighter. The woods were very deep and you soon found yourself lost in a clearing. On a tree there was a carving of an eye inside of a triangle with a top hat and bow tie, it was weird but you dismissed it and carried on searching for the shack. Another twig snapped and then you saw a branch move and a figure in the shadows.
"H-hello?!" You whispered.
"Hello?" The figure answered back as if as an echo. You then watched silently as they tripped over and landed at your feet. You found yourself looking down into the face of a boy who looked about your age. His unruly brown hair was held back by a blue and white cap that had a navy coloured Pinetree on the front of it. He was wearing a reddish-orange tshirt with a blue jacket and grey shorts. A book slipped from beneath the jacket and fell open, all you caught was a glimpse of the words 'Trust No One' before he snatched it up and tucked it back inside his top.
"Err, hi?" You smiled kindly.
"Hi!" He replied with a lopsided grin on his face and a light blush colouring his cheeks. He stood up and asked what you were looking for.
"A place called the Mystery Shack, do you know where it is?"
"Yeah sure, I'm living there for the summer. It belongs to my Grunckle Stan. I'll take you there. My name's Dipper Pines by the way!"
"Really thanks! And my name's
(Y/N)!"
On the way to the shack you explained what had happened.
Dipper sympathised a bit but seemed generally excited for you to be coming and living with him at the shack.

Dipper pushed open the door to the lopsided building that seemed to be falling to pieces. The 'S' had slipped from where it read 'Mystery Shack' so it now read 'Mystery Hack'. You giggled slightly at the coincidence.

"Hey kid." A low voice grunted as you stepped into a gift shop full of overly-priced goods.
"I see you've already met Dipper. Welcome to Gravity Falls Oregon, kid!"
