I could feel the car softly rocking side to side as Dean drove. I was half asleep so I couldn't make out sounds or voices though I knew he and Sam were bickering up front. I wouldn't expect anything different from them.

My days were pretty much all the same: wake up, new town, new mission, have dinner with my brothers while we talk about tomorrow's mission, and then fall asleep in the car only to wake up and do it all again.

I'm used to it though. It would be weird if I went to school or hung out with friends, or joined some kind of sports team. I never did that because I never had time to. My father made sure of that but I didn't completely blame him.

My father, a heartbroken widower who wanted to avenge his wife's mysterious death. He trained my two brothers and me to fight and kill demons. My brothers and I grew up knowing nothing other than death.

Sam is my twin brother. We look similar, but we are two completely different people. Dean is our older brother, whom I have more things in common with. Dean and I have always been close, he's more like a father to me than my actual one. I do still love my dad, even though he's never around. I have his smile. I was lucky enough to have inherited my mother's blonde hair and Dean's green eyes.

Sam hasn't wanted any part in hunting. He's always tried to be normal and have a regular life. I think it's partly because he's afraid he's the reason Mom is dead.

Dean knew Mom and he still remembers her. He got to experience life with a mother. He shares the same feelings as Dad does about everything, but Dad just left him all alone. Us all alone.

Who knows where my father is now. Nothing will be the same when he comes back. If  he comes back. He would always put my dead mother before me. Before any of us.

I didn't know Mary Winchester. Although I heard she was a lovely lady, I never understood why Dad felt so strongly about finding her killer. I want to know why they killed her. That was the only reason I still helped my family hunt, that and the fact that I was afraid of leaving Dean completely alone.

I've been on enough hunts to know that my mother was killed in such a specific way for a specific reason, I just didn't know the reason yet.

I let my thoughts melt away as I felt the rocking of the car slow down to a stop. I guess we need gas. I kept my eyes closed, pretending to still be asleep.

"Come on, Em. Get up." I heard someone say.

"I've gone in the gas stations the last 4 times! It's your turn." I groaned.

I heard Dean's familiar chuckle and then heard both doors open.

"We're here already?" I asked with a yawn, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes like a baby. I sat up and stretched. Thankfully, Dean's car was comfortable enough to sleep in because I love to sleep.

"You got to sleep the whole 9 hours, while I, on the other hand, had to listen to Dean sing AC/DC at the top of his lungs." Sam shook his head.

"You're welcome." Dean winked as we got out of the car.

"I haven't slept that long since. . ." I paused, realizing what I was saying. The guys gave me their concerned looks that I was tired of seeing. I shot them a smile before playing with my necklace. It was something I did out of habit. There I go again bringing up the incident. I was good at not thinking before I speak.

Dean sighed and we began walking towards what looked to be a bar and grill.

"Mystic Grill." Sam read the sign with uncertainty in his voice.
