"I know you're scared," he sneered.
He walked in front of me again and snapped his fingers. Smoke wound itself around him. A woman with long dark hair, sickly pale skin, and dark hollow eyes was left behind. She wore a black slimming dress that fanned out on the floor.
"Much better," she sighed, tossing her hair. Then she grinned at me. "Now if you want to be one of those boring protagonists, I'll crank it up a bit."
I screamed, clamping my hands over my eyes.
Heart-wrenching memories overwhelmed me.
A boy with bright blue eyes and blonde curls smiled up at me. A teenaged boy with dark curls and silver eyes laughed beside him.
"You'll never see them again," Death's voice rang out through my head.
I tore myself from the trance. Adrenaline flooded through my veins.
"You took the form of my brother?!" I screamed. Then fell to my knees.
I have brothers...
Hot tears slid down my cheeks. Oh how i loved them... and missed them.
Will I truly never see them again?
"Well I had to take the form of someone appealing to you," she said innocently.
My heart ached for them so much that it felt as if someone had stabbed me.
"What's the point," I asked weakily. "If I'm already dead, why would you play around like this?"
"First of all sweetheart, it's fun. And second, you're not dead, but you're nearly there," her lips curled into a sickening grin.
"Who is Aden? Another trick?" I snarled.
"Darkness cannot exist without light," she droned. "If I could get rid of that little twerp I would. But don't expect him to help you now. No one can."
Then her face lit up. "In fact it's just about time."
She slipped through the mirror. "See you on the other side," her voice echoed out in a sing-song voice.
The same pain from the meadow erupted through me.
I stumbled over myself. Trying to find a way out.
I fell against the mirror and slid down. My hands pounded weakly against it.
Was this truly the end? Am I to spend an eternity being haunted by her?
Then an idea occurred to me. It was my last chance. My only hope.
With the last bit of strength I had, and slammed my fists into the glass.
A large crack spread throughout the mirror, shattering it. A bright glow engulfed me.
I awoke in a sea of fuzziness. Multiple grey and black blocks faded in and out of each other. My whole body felt prickly and fuzzy and heavy, as if it were asleep. My brain was sluggish and drunk.
A voice slowly pulled me out of my trance.
"Heart?!" It sounded far away and echoey. It's tone was urgent.
I tried to turn my head, but the heaviness was doubling by the second.
My vision became spotty. I could just make out bits and pieces of a white room through the dark spots.
"Heart?!" the voice grew louder, making my head throb.
I moaned.
Then a boy's bright face popped into my vision. His light blue eyes and mess of Blonde curls looked so familiar. As if i had known him from two completely different places. I tried to grasp them both. Then it all came back in an overwhelming rush.
Death, Jaime, Aden, the meadow, the torture... the fear.
I gasped. My chest painfully clenching in protest.
Tears arose from both Daniel's and my eyes.
With a tremendous amount of effort I lifted my hand up to his cheek and wiped away a tear.
New memories flashed across my eyes. Ones of my family and home.
"You woke up." He gave a tremendously bright smile.
I heard someone stumble across the room to me.
Calebs weary tired eyes connected with mine.
"You're okay," his voice cracked. He knelt down and gave me the best hug he could give to an injured person.
Daniel joined in. We all let out great sobs of relief.
"What... happened to me?" I croaked.
They pulled away from.
"You were driving home when you fell asleep and hit a tree," Caleb answered.
"You died..." Daniel bit his bottom lip, trying to keep from sobbing again.
My eyes widened.
"They brought you back. But they said you might not wake up, or if you did... You wouldn't remember us," His voice was strained.
Caleb glared at him. "you weren't supposed to tell her until she recovered," He said in a warning tone.
"Shut up," I glared at Caleb.
Daniel rested his head on my stomach.
"What was it like?" he asked me.
"I was dreaming."
"what about?"
"You two." I closed my eyes, finally able to rest.

Sometimes I see her, in the corner of my eye. Or feel her watching me.
She's not angry, I know that for sure. in fact she loves that I escaped.
It makes the game more interesting for her.
I know that in the end she will come for me.
But I'm not afraid.
