Chapter-45 *Out of control*✔

"Finally." He sighed in relief and I mentally cursed myself for losing control.

Max noticed my sour expression and asked, "What's wrong?" He caressed my cheeks and I broke down.

I started crying and Max pulled me in his arms. "What happened, Jazz?"

"Just stay, please." I mumbled, letting out the pain.

He nodded and we stayed for another five minutes in each other’s arms. I wanted to feel his scent, his heartbeat, and his warmth.

"Jazz?" He stroked my hair.

I nodded and he moved away. I suddenly felt cold and ran my hands over my arms.

"Are you cold?"

I shook my head. "No. I should leave now."

"What? You can't leave now. We need to talk, Jazz. Please, tell me why you’re behaving like this?" He pleaded and grabbed my hand.

"Because I’ve realised we’re no good for each other, so it's better if I stay away from you," I replied, looking at the ground. I didn't want to look into his eyes because I knew I would lose control, again.

"You’re lying, again," he stated and pulled me towards him, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"I'm not," I said, struggling to break his hold.

"Fine." He scoffed and moved his hands away from my waist. His eyes were burning from anger and I gulped down, nervously. "You want to go, right? Then go."

This was my chance to escape even if I wanted to comfort him, hug him so badly, but I knew this would only lead him on and I couldn't hurt him any more. I was on the verge of tears, so before I lost control, I turned on my heels and started walking away from him, from my happiness.

"But I'll make you say yes, Jazz." I heard his voice behind me and I stopped in my tracks.

Slowly, I turned around and saw him smirking at me. "I'm not giving up on us." The honesty in his eyes shook me.

A tear rolled down my cheek and his eyebrows furrowed. He started walking towards me, but before he could take more than a few steps, I turned and ran away.

Thump.

Thump.

Thump.

I woke up to this annoying sound and groaned when I noticed it was 6 in the morning. Damn! I plopped down on my bed, trying to get back to sleep.

Thump.

What the hell? I hid my face under the pillow to muffle the sound. I was hella tired and just wanted to sleep, but someone was desperate to disturb my precious sleep.

Ugh! I heard the noise again and jumped out of bed, cursing loudly. It was coming from my balcony. I opened the door and stepped out. My eyes widened when I realized who was behind the awful noises.

Why was I shocked? It wasn't like it was the first time he did this. But what he was doing here, at this ungodly hour?

He waved at me, smiling. I rolled my eyes, to hide the smile on my face. Suddenly, he took a step back and unfolded a paper into some kind of chart which said "Please, be mine."

What? Max was still smiling and I fought the sudden urge to kiss him. I closed my eyes, and with a heavy heart, turned around, and closed the door with a loud bang.

*******

I opened my book and gasped when a folded paper fell out of it. I furrowed my eyebrows and picked it up from the floor.
