The Anxiety

A fic based on what happened during Qing's birthday party on 160310.

Qing couldn't brush away the worries from his expression. On his bed, Dayu was asleep. His breath was harsh and far from calm. His forehead slightly warm. The man was indeed a little sick.

A little.

But as if that could ease Qing's anxiety. Moreover when Qing knew it better, he was the reason behind Dayu's current not-so-good condition.

Slowly, Qing stood up. He checked on the AC and making sure that it wasn't too cold. Eventhough the winter already passed by, but the spring wasn't yet to come, so the weather was still slightly cold outside. The last thing Qing wanted right now, Dayu's fever got worse. Then he reached for the comforter and let it covered Dayu from his toes to his neck completely.

After he was sure everything already set in place, Qing took his place beside Dayu on the bed.

No, don't get him wrong. They didn't live together, they weren't roommates anymore like they used to be when they were still in the college. He just happened rushed immediately to Dayu's new apartement when his birthday party finally over some hours ago.

His manager said he looked like a person who got some crazy dogs ran after him by looking at the way he rushed to Dayu's place. Not that Qing could help it. He was in panick attack. Other people might not saw it, but who would know Dayu more than him? No matter how much Dayu tried to cover his condition, nothing could slip from Qing's attention.

What did Dayu expect? He was called as 'Harpia' for a reason. Qing owned a pair of sharp eyes, nothing would slip from his observation. Moreover if it was about the most important person in his entire heart.

Usually, Qing wouldn't be able to hold his smile whenever he arrived in Dayu's apartment building. The blue building, they used to call the building like that. And Qing would immediately remember why Dayu chose to buy apartment in that building.

"Because in this world, I love blue the most. Because this universe wouldn't be this fascinating without blue to make it colorful." Dayu told his reason once.

And just like that Qing forgot how upset he was when Dayu refused his offer to buy him the apartment. Qing already promised Dayu that he was going to buy the apartment for him, but Dayu was a man with pride. Even until now, need a lot of persuation and some tricks from Qing's side whenever he wanted to buy Dayu something.

And just like that Qing forgot how to breath. Everything else was faded, leaving him alone with Dayu. Just because he knew the hidden meaning behind those words.

(Qing / 青 in Chinese means blue; Yu / 宇 means universe/world )

But few hours ago, for the first time Qing forgot how to smile when he saw Dayu's apartment. His excitement was buried underneath his worries. Dayu was having a fever, and it was Qing's damn fault.

If only Qing didn't ask too much for his birthday present...

He knew how busy both of them was, so when Dayu called him through phone to congratulate him, Qing immediately took the privilege to tease Dayu a little.

"I don't want any expensive gifts, I want the most special ones." He told Dayu.

Never once crossed in Qing's mind Dayu would took the train to the Lama Temple and joined the long line of queuing up people in the middle of cold weather just to pray and got him a Falun Wheel. They were busy nowadays, they wouldn't be stay together as much as they used to and Qing almost always came home at late night driving his car alone, so that's why Dayu wanted the Falun Wheel would be able to protect him from any danger.

(Falun Wheel is an amulet from Lama Temple. Dayu gave it to Qing as birthday presents.)

Dayu didn't care how busy he was... Dayu didn't care he caught a cold now... as long as he could give the most special gift for Qing. So it's no wonder how worried Qing right now.

Qing then heaved a long sigh. He glanced to the sleeping Dayu beside, he was making a decision that he was going to spend the night here and making sure that Dayu would be safe and sounds within his reach through the entire night.

"Don't be sick anymore, Yu. You don't know how worried I am, don't you?" Qing said before laying his own body on the bed and scooping Dayu close to his chest.

"Wo ai ni." He whispered to the silent night, so near to Dayu ear in hoping for Dayu would dream about him tonight.

He actually wasn't the type who always saying those words so easily. But when he did, he would do that wholeheartedly to the only person he was sure he would love with his might. However people used to say that words are cheap, acts are priceless.

And this would be Qing's ultimate promise, that he would protect Dayu with all his might for eternity.
