"You should be, and what the hell are you wearing?" He asked, eying me from head to toe, especially my top,
"What? I'm at home anyway." I said.
"Well, I didn't see any pizza here." He said.
"I was mad at you!" I exclaimed as I playfully punched his shoulder, and we accidentally woke Cookie, then we burst out laughing. I just can't stay mad at Xander, besides him being my brother, he's the only family I had, besides Cookie. I'm happy that this misunderstanding's finally over.
"What do we have for dinner?" Xander asked, "I'm hungry."
"You're not the only one." I said as I put cookie down gently.
"I know," he said, "You're the glutton in the family." He exclaimed as he put an arm around my neck.
"Ah, as I remembered correctly, it was you who finished the Oreo Muffins I baked last week, and I barely even tasted one." I said.
"What? I just ate three." He said, I playfully hit him. "Liar!" I exclaimed, he burst out laughing.

That night, I did my History report and my Calculus homework and I finished at ten pm, then I threw in a pink bath bomb in my bath tub, put my hair up in a messy bun, and carefully going in the lukewarm water, letting my body relax before I grabbed a book and read. I stayed that way for thirty minutes (no joke) and finally done with my relaxing bath, I drained the pink-colored water in my tub before going in my walk-in-closet. After I changed into my onesies bunny pajamas, I then laid down on my bed, savoring and enjoying the softness of my blanket. I wanted to stay like this for the rest if my life.
I heard a knock on my door that night, but I didn't bother to look up. I know exactly who it was. I can tell by the way that person knocks at my door. "Alexandria," a woman said, the voice who used to sing me lullabies every night, the voice who used to tell me that there were no clowns outside the door, the voice who used to tell me every single day that she loves me, that she'll never leave. Amazing, she deserves a cookie.
I looked up, seeing a woman round face, round eyes in the deep shade of green which changes magically into blue, or grey, pale skin, pointed nose and high, elaborate cheek bones, which put so much detail in her doll-like frame, there were no sign of wrinkles anywhere in her face though she's already at the age of 40, the woman, standing by my doorway, whom I considered before as my mother. We look very much alike, except for our eyes, but looks doesn't matter.
"What do you need, Everly?" I asked as I rolled over and lifted my body up leaning my arms against my blanket for support. She sighed and took a few steps slowly entering my room.
"I understand your anger towards me, but leave Cassandra out of this." She reasoned. I scoffed. "Whatever happens, she's still your sister" she said
"Stepsister," I corrected instantly. "In the eyes of the law, stepsister, but I will never, ever in my life accept that-" I sighed then laid flatly on my bed with my arms outstretched to my sides. "She may be considered as my stepsister in accord to the law, but never in my heart, especially that other b*tch." I cringed at that thought.
Dave, my stepdad - gag - was actually a widow, and he had a daughter with his first wife. Celeste here, she's the type of girl who sleeps with everyone's boyfriends, and going to parties barely wearing anything to cover her skin. I'm just the second in the popularity rank, and she's on top. She always was. She's a cheerleader and attends the same school as me. We never got along, and I preferred it to stay that way.
"Oh come on, Alexandria." She exhaled.
"What? Are you going to force me to get along with her as well?" I spat, closing my eyes.
"No," I felt her shrug. "Celeste is," she began, "she's not sisterly towards Cassandra" she said,
"so?"
"Can you just at least, treat her like an older sister." She said,
"Psh, can you leave Dave and act like my mother again?" I spat.
I heard her sigh. "Alexandria, you know I-"
"What? You can't leave them because you love them more than us? That you chose them over us?" I said, sitting up, eying her hard. She swallowed hard as she finally ran out of words. Serves you right, woman.
"Alexandria, please. I-" she began. I sighed as I lay back down on my bed, and whispered.
"Just leave." I whispered bluntly, loud enough for her to hear. I can't bear that woman in my room, I can't bear her talking about her other family. How she loves them more. I just can't talk to her right now. It hurts, too much.
I heard her sigh deeply, as she walked away, closing the door behind her.

Too bitter? That's her life, though.
Too short? Well, I'm sorry.
