I burst inside the door, soon as I arrived home, doing my best to refrain from shrieking.
"Damn him!" I cursed.
"Good evening, Miss" a maid greeted as I threw her my jacket, angrily.
"Whatever." I replied. As soon as I arrived in the living room, I threw my bag on the floor and slumped on the sofa and lift my foot up the coffee table as I took out my phone and began scrolling through my Tumblr feed, doing my best to calm down.
"Alexandria," a little voice called as a girl's round face, baby blue eyes, and light brown hair, down in elegant corkscrew curls, with clean-cut bangs covering her eye brows, peeped out the archway of the living room to the dining hall, a little girl who looks exactly like me and the little girl whom I would call step-sister.
"How dare you call me by my first name, you little brat!?" I hissed. If that brat is here, she must be here.
"What did I ever do to you?" She screamed as she burst out crying and ran away, for sure she will run towards her. She's ten years old for goodness' sake, and she wasted tears just because I called her a brat, she's so shallow, and I know for sure where she inherited that trait from
"Ruining my life!" I yelled, as if she could still hear my reply. I can't handle this anymore; I ran up the grand staircase and dashed through the halls, finally reaching my room. I didn't bother taking my shoes off, I jumped on my bed, stomach first, my bare belly tickling against my fur blanket, and buried my face inside my crossed arms and breathed. I heard cookie whimper beside me as he tried to fit his tiny head into my arms, I looked up to see Cookie's curious eyes.
"Hey there, Baby." I cooed, as I gently rubbed behind her ear. "I have no idea what's happening as well, but that's life, you know." I said as if she can understand everything I'm telling her.
I stayed like that for thirty minutes and I felt my stomach growl at me, I can feel its vibration against my bed. My baby's hungry again, I thought. I stood up and faced the huge rectangle shaped mirror I hung behind my door. I stared at the tired figure in front of me, my hair was all over the place, I looked like a girl who just got back from the bar with wearing a black tube top, exposing my belly button, black ruffled skirt and ankle boots. I felt like Celeste. I cringed at the thought then I carried Cookie and made my way out my room, down the grand staircase. The living room was empty, my hunger subsided and my mind told me to just rest on the sofa, and so I did. I slumped myself on the sofa, and lifted my foot up, just like the way I sat thirty minutes ago, and laid Cookie on my bare stomach, stroking her fur as she fell asleep in my arms. Then I heard the front door open, I didn't bother to stand up to see who it was.
"Alexandria," I heard someone call.
"I'm not talking to you, Xander." I said as I continued to gradually caress Cookie's soft fur.
"Hey, Al, I can explain." He said as he sat beside me.
"Yeah, as if I'm interested to hear it." I said sarcastically, as I stood up, still carrying Cookie in my arms, I'm amused to see her still asleep in my arms amid this confrontation with Xander.
"Aw come on, Al" he said, grabbing my arm. "Its soccer thing, and you know what, I'll bake you a dozen of chocolate chip cookies every morning." He said.
I smirked. "Hmm, I'll consider that." I said, facing him, smiling, he smiled back. I hugged him with one arm. "I'm sorry for acting such a bitch, Xander." I whispered. Then we parted.
